Go see it. One of the most scared I've ever been in a movie cinema. I was such a girl I had to cover my eyes in some parts...

In a nutshell (without spoilers but read the replies at your own risk cause no 'tards on here use the spoiler tags): two couples go to the Tasmanian wilderness to find evidence of Tasmanian tigers. They get to meet some wacky locals, and one of the main characters tries to also uncover the mystery of how her sister went missing 8 years beforehand.

Kinda predictable, stock standard horror stuff, but for some reason it totally creeped the s*** out of me!!!

4 stars (out of 5).

Yeh Leigh just stars in it, and I gotta say, his acting has improved since Saw. From what I remember about Saw, he and the other Australian guy that made it didn't want to make a sequel, but the studios said, "We own the rights, and we'll make them with or without you." So the Aussie guys jumped onboard for the money. Neither had anything to do with the writing/producing/directing of this new one.

on dvd yet?

I can imagine it being pretty lamo on DVD. Defintely worth going to see it at the big screen, unless you have to pay >$10.

Don't expect anything ground breaking in terms of plot, but it was very scary.

I am sorry.

But this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339840/ was the LAST GREAT Australian (comedy) horror film I 'saw' (pun intended) .

No one does zombie killer fish, aliens and a triple barrel shotgun like Micheal and Peter Speirig did back in 2003.

The SAW as a movie series, just went down the hole at the sequel of 2 or 3. When they made 4 and finally 5 that's it, I was literally turned off after number 3. Oh but wait Jigsaw might have an son that was adopted that he had with the girl who passed his pain tests. As if.

Undead is like Black Sheep (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0779982/) and Peter Jackson's 'Brain Dead' (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103873/)

Brain is real film making with prosthetic models, Undead was REAL film making on a budget of about 1 million. THAT'S REAL FILM making.

Even better see what George A Romero did:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_the_Living_Dead

Budget $114,000
Gross revenue $30,000,000

People don't do that s*** anymore, man. They don't take risks.

I have seen the posters for this flick and wouldn't mind checking it out.
Good to see Australians having a crack at the horror genre.

Top 10 Horror movies for me would be (in no particular order):

1) Alien
2) Texas Chainsaw Massacre
3) Dawn of the Dead (Romero's although the new one is quite good)
4) Evil Dead
5) Hellraiser
6) Ring (Japanese version)
7) The Thing
8) The Changeling (George C. Scott)
9) The Omen
10)Jaws

Just saying that I am not so sure directors will take risks any more with horror or that there won't be as many films any more with a shoe string budget but still are like 'Wow even though it feels like a b-grade horror flick some of the stuff in there was really cool, funny or to a point disturbing'

Alien is horror/sci-fi.

I think Jaws could be classed as horror.

Both have protagonists who are stalked by a "monster". What constitutes a horror movie? Jaws is more than a Thriller I think. I would classify giant animal movies as horror for the most part eg. Razorback, Jaws, Alligator, Anaconda.

They sit more in the horror genre than the Action or Thriller genres IMO.

Granted the subsequent Alien movies lean more towards action/sci-fi (Aliens) and then more straight sci-fi (3 and Resurrection).
