I know this isn't Gamearena but I do know alot of people here have knowledge about Game Arena's services.

We are looking at moving a WoW guilds web site from the UK to Game Arena and also if it is cheaper moving our Vent from the US to Gamearena.

Does Gamearena provide Vent/web hosting as a bundled service?

If so can someone please direct me to the link?

I have found the Vent hosting Gamearena page and it is roughtly the same price but don't want to move vent unless we can get a bundled package but do wnat to move the web hosting to local.

We require webhosting with MySQL support, 2 data bases and about 2 GB's of storage. Traffic each month is sub 300 Mb except for the upload of the site obviously. The databases are also sub 50Mb.

We are using typefrag right now for vent who are fast reliable and price correctly but our web hosting fro mthe UK is a bit slow due to the location of the server.

The actual hosting service we use is reliable though. We are up for renal in the next 2 weeks and just shopping around.

BTW Mammoth's vent is more expensive than typefrag for a similar service. We looked at them 12 months ago when we settled for typefrag. I also would not recommend darkstarllc. They are slow and unreliable especially in Australian peak times. We have massive problems on our vent and web service form about 6pm evennings with what appeared to be a bandwidth problem at hteir end.

Well if you pay for crap then you get crap. Mammoth vent works flawlessly in all the years I've been using it with exceptionally low latency for Australian users (sub-40ms pings).

not after new vent hosting. I am happy with our current vent provider (typefrag) I am after possible alternative local web hosting.

I was just adding vent hosting in as a bonus if Gamearena did a bundle. But Gamarena do not do web hosting.

With Webhosting i would just look for a cheap service.

But with Vent would look for something reliable... We use Mammoth and have had no problems... BTW how much are you spending now?

Typefrag for 50 slots is $20 US. That was great when the dollar was at 90-95c but not it is down at the 60c marks puts it in line with Mammoth and Gamearena prices.

Still our vent is perfect and we never have problems iwth it. More after the web hosting side of things.

Few people have saide jumba is decent so may investigate them further.

Does anyone have good/bad stories about their bandwidth?

Basically I am looknig for a service that doesn't get really slow in australian peak times.

From what I have been told 1Mb/s uploads is pretty normal for them so they will do.

Thanks everyone for your help :)

I would definitely host website in the US, bandwidth costs here just mean local businesses cant compete.

I host my US s*** on http://www.slicehost.com/
I have boxes in a DC down here in Sydney but the cost of those means that only business-critical s*** runs on them because someone is prepared to pay the additional cost of colo/bandwidth

Hey capto, long time!

Anyway, my guild is using a west coast based host that is very fast and cheap (I originally thought it was aus hosted because of the speed, but later found out it wasn't). Aus hosting is just not worth it.

anyway check www.justwipeit.com if you wanna see speeds. I can get more details from the guy if you're interested.
