Not sure if anyone remembers the drama about this from a little while ago.

Short story is us aussies were getting a decent deal on Call of Duty 4 off Steam. It was selling for $44.50 USD which was around about $55 AUD at the time.

Someone cried and Activision then has the Steam price increased JUST for Australians to $88.50 USD. Apparently the value of a US Dollar differs magically by territory.

I'd just like to point out that it is still $88.50 USD, which currently converts to a cheap as $136 AUD for a year old game.

which, for comparison, is more than far cry 2.

Don't even get me started on Far Cry 2.

Getting shotgun-sniped from 200m away by AI through extremely thick foliage you can't see through, on Easy ... while suffering from malaria? I'd rather jam a fork in my eyes. Dumbest game ever.

^^ I ended up uninstalling my copy, probably just use it as a coaster or something. I loved the open plan of crysis and just being able to run all over the map without being bound by walls like most other games these days where you run around a maze of a building but having to constantly drive from one side of the map to the other in far cry 2 back and forth looking for diamonds, shooting people, stealing medicine, saving games, repeating every 5 minutes it's BORING.

Plus like parabol said, being shot at by enemies I can't see because of bushes and trees is bloody stupid.

But why are we even discussing cod4 pricing when everyone should have it by now? Should be talking about cod5 pricing. Speaking if cod5, does it have any DRM activation stuff like farcry 2 has?

Must be hard making a decent multiplayer game, are there any custom map servers that are regularly populated for cod4? I'm kind of getting bored with the standard maps. That is if there are even any custom cod4 maps.

Oh f*** off, it's in USD? I thought that s*** was in AUD. I bought it on Friday off steam because I was too lazy to go to the shops and needed some FPS slaw.

I could have bought a console game for that price.

Has anyone got their order yet from that site. Very tempted to buy Left 4 Dead for $55 from that site.
