I normally like to nibble Nobby's nuts, before Nobby nibbles mine. The salted mix nuts are great, but a bit oily. I just turned to Coles brand mixed nuts which are the f***ing BOMB. They have pistachios and macadamias, and are cheaper than Nobby's. What are your favourite nuts and why? |

I just buy those supermarket branded bags of 750g-1kg of Peanuts and Almonds, and mix them to make a mix to my liking - 2 cups of sultanas, 2 cups of peanuts, and 1 cup of almonds.
I started doing this because I got sick of buying mixed nut bags that had s*** in them that I didn't like - stuff like Cashews, Paw Paw etc. |

The Home Brand mixed nuts are good too. They are super crunchy and fresh, and not overly coated with salt.

almonds..
has some fat content(the good kind) and heaps of protein.. Don't eat any of the mixed nut bags you buy from coles and all that, because of the salt content..less salt the better :) |

Dry roasted cashews here. Raw/dry roasted nuts are stupidly good for you, and tasty to boot! I tent to avoid the salted and flavoured varieties, as they override the flavour of teh nut (although honey-roasted cashews and macadamias are orgasmic).
I wanna make my own breakfast nut/seed/fruit mix. I find the ones in stores fill up too much on cheap s*** like sultanas and peanuts, and I don't like dried fruits that are too sweet (like pineapple and paw paw). My personal breakfast/snack mix so far is going to include: Dry roasted cashews Dry roasted walnuts Pepitas (pumpkin seeds) Sunflower seeds Sesame seeds Sultanas Dried banana Looking for suggestions too. Aiming for something that's gonna make my morning wheetbix/porridge/miniwheets come to life, yet still work as a handy snack. These kinds of mixes are great; packed full of protein, essential oils, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, fibre and win. My guns are only as good as the ammo I put in them (Yes, I did just flex my arms and say 'Ba-BOOSH!' aloud). |
