It only seems to happen when i browse news.com.au so it could well be something dodgy in their code.

clicking either yes or no will chug up my pc and i have to terminate process.

new.com.au is rooted.

If i go there in IE everything becomes super slow and unresponsive. Firefox is ok on it for me though.

You don't have a specific device driver installed.

Check and make sure your motherboard drivers are installed (specially if it's an nForce chipset) then check your VGA drivers. I had that exact error on a machine I was working on today that hadn't yet had the mobo/vga drivers installed after a fresh install.
