Hi there,

I've got some students marks for around 15 tests in a big nasty excel spreadsheet.

I'm wondering if it's possible to create a seperate spreadsheet for each student (without a whole heap of copy/pasting) and then export all that to a pdf/word document for printing?

Is the only reason you want to create a separate (you're a teacher?) spreadsheets is to print each student on a separate page?
Why not just use print areas? and select each area as a separate page? what version of excel you using?

ahhhh......
how many kids are there?
You could make up a sheet, and just reference the marks and press print, and change the marks / name etc.
I don't know how to do what you want off the top of my head, and probably would be faster to do it manually than it owuld be to research how to do it :S Maybe some kind of vlookup based upon the student name (up the top of the sheet) but would depnd on how the results are laid out.
Make a base sheet, with test 1 and 2 using a vlookup function based upon the name cell, copy that a bunch of times, and then paste in the student names at the top of each sheet. Or just copy name in + print - rinse and repeat.

Yeah, agree with Mr. Fireblood.

You could make a new tab for each student (Probably set up the format you want on one sheet and then copy the sheet to how many students you have) and then use a vlookup on each tab to lookup that students results. Each student will need a unique identifier such as student number or surname.

vlookups can be a bit tricky at first if you haven't used them but when you get the jist of how they work, you're on a winner.

Use a mail merge in winword to call on the data in the spreadsheet.

Just make new worksheets. Give each student a worksheet and then have one worksheet with the 'letter' on it.

Name the worksheets with the students name.

Then just go = on the main sheet and highlight the cell in the kids worksheet.

Then when you want to change them all you need to do is change the name in the worksheet field.

As long as the worksheets are all the same it should just change the details and you can then print out your fancy looking letter bit.

make sense?
