I was wondering if anyone here could recommend some good pc software for changing video files to format for the ipod?

i tried googling and i happened across some horrendous bloatware.

your advice is welcomed with much anticipation.

I was using videora iPod Converter before I started doing all my conversions on a linux box. It is pretty good, it was running all 4 cores at 100%.

Still using a program that was suggested in a past thread.

Xvid4PSP.

Don't let the name fool you, it actually does a whole tonne of different formats. The only gripe I have with it is the initial queuing process; for when you want to rip a whole folder of videos, you have to queue each file individually. Besides that it's more or less flawless.

oh and it's free.

nothing i've seen beats iPod Drop for ease of use. You drag the video you want converted to the icon on your desktop

It uses ffmpeg to convert your video files

I even googled it for you: http://guspaz.blogspot.com/2006/09/ipoddrop-15-released.html
