I would just like to thank everyone who turned up to the old school QGL lan on the weekend in Brisbane. Sure we only had 30 odd people turn up but it was quality not quantity.

It also made the setup and network issues easier to manage.

Cod4 was awesome, as was the soulstorm and CoH games.

good times.

It can't have been old school........unless you were running a 10BaseT BNC network and playing all games in software mode.

As long as Jim was screaming some of the most offensive profanities ever put together into phrases then it would still qualify as old school I guess.

wtf.... how can you call it a QGL LAN if nobody on QGL knew about it?

Funny also that this ara guy (who I've never heard of) from New South Wales is supposedly an 'old school qgler' and prominent community locals like CHUB and Fireblood are left out.

Oh yeah and I see a few more nobodies from sydney were invited.... qgl my arse...

I'm still annoyed noone responded to my DooM challenges... I spent the whole weekend looking for a node.

haha, if you haven't heard of me then that was probably reason enough to not be invited along.

also "prominent community locals" - haha

it was for the old school LANers, not the QGL forum SPAMers.

I really wanted to say something like "you haven't sucked enough cocks to get in" but it just didn't feel right.

What you have to realise is that "oldschool qglers" is basically the in-crowd of qgl and there are only three positions you can be in with the in-crowd. Rim-jobs all round, pure hatred and nothingness. You fall in the latter.

They probably only had a small lan as a test for a big on I hope. They probably couldn't run a big lan again because no venue big enough in Brisbane has enough handicapped parking spots for the qgl admin

Well I bet the admins couldn't run a lan again.. or be able to invite everyone along.. they just don't have the smarts or the balls to do it.. i mean everyone would be there, face to face.. No chance at all.. They're scared of everyone!

(ppsstt everyone its reverse psychology.. its sure to work!!)

The "Punch'e" triped over some CAT5 from memory, Bones gave him a word of caution and got some smarty pants remark, which resulted in the Monster that is Bones delivering HUMILIATION.

EDIT: Dam is my memory that bad?? hah

The origin of the QGL back punch comes from an incident at a QGL LAN where some whiney llama whose name/nick I have forgotten posted on the forum claiming that his QGL experience was f***ed over by continuous power supply issues. He went on to say that when he complained to the admins, VRBones 'punched' him in the back. Being the QGL forum this was greeted with a wave of hilarity at the expense of said llama & soon every noob llama that was overly noisy about admins was threatened with the legendary back punch to shut them up.
It's amazing how chinese whispers can change the facts...

There was a guy who completely failed to say anything to the admins about his power problems. Bones and I saw this clown playing with one of the 3 phase boards, so bones went over and put his hand on his shoulder and asked him stop playing with the power. The guy slunk away, but did come back later to complain that his power was flaky. I can't remember who fixed it, but I think it was a faulty power board somewhere.

Afterwards he comes on the boards and starts saying bones punched him in the back.

So there!

Yeah, there were gurls there. We hired more than 10, and thus got them at a cheaper rate.

I hear that Ausgamers got so many users that the user ID wrapped. That's how I got number 15.
