Nope. I'll jump back on the soccer bandwagon when the games get a bit more important.

This is the last game being played in Brisbane to qualify for the 2010 World Cup. There is no more "important" live games coming here.

The next time we'll see the socceroos play (and I mean the proper socceroos, not a bunch of a-leaguers) will be to qualify for the 2011 Asian cup....and i'm not even sure about that as Judy Spence has said she wants to see an International Friendly or Asian Cup qualifer played on the Gold Coast.

Just for interests sake, both Kewell and Cahill, Neill AND Craig Moore have been named in the squad (of 35).

It'll be fantastic to have Moore and Neill back as our defence has been a bit lacklustre in the last few games.

Us and Qatar were the 2 countries that went through from our first group stage - Iraq and China got knocked out.

So now it's the second group stage. Total of 10 countries from asia. We happened to be drawn in the same group as Qatar again. 2 groups of 5. Top 2 teams from each group automatically qualify for the world cup.

3rd from each group play-off, then the winner plays the winner of Oceania for 1 more spot in the world cup.

Trog, most likely Coco's at Rembrandplein (an aussie pretend pub) will be playing the game and will have a bar open. I sent them a mail to find out more ... If my calculations are right the game will be on the wednsday at 11:30am. I will have to be at work though unless I take a day off :/

Theres another place that has Hooters type waitresses at Leidseplein that plays a lot of games but not sure if they will cover the Australia game.

Let me know if you want to catch up anyhow, theres another QGL'er Superform who lives outside of Amsterdam, I live and work right in the centre.

If any Qgl'rs get to Amsterdam hit me up, always good to catch up and convince you to smuggle me some Vegemite :D I only have 2 jars left. I met an aussie few days ago talking about all the stuff I miss.

ok doesnt look good lol, here is a reply from the pub

============================

Just checked. Sorry to say but it does not look good.

I can get a lot, a lot. But these teams are hard to get. When Australia would play England, Holland, Germany etc....I could most likley get it. But Qatar...pfff..

Now...I still have one satelitte that can show it. But...this is a arabic channel and their website is also in arabic. And I do not read Arabic...do you ??:-)

By next Monday I know more. Remind me and I get back to you.

Im not sure of the name of the place but there is a sports bar with a pancake restaurant attached to it.. they had every conceivable sport available to watch. It was somewhere around Leidseplein.. Spent about 12 hours there one night.. UFC, NFL, premier league etc.. Good times..

/edit

Google is such a winner!

Yeah thats the second place I was talking about Boxhead :) They have nice waitresses there plus unlimited ribs for I think 15 euros. As far as now they said they wont be showing the Aussie - Qatar game :/ I'll check again the sooner it gets to the date as I ride past there on my bike to home.
