So yeah, despite many reviews around the world pointing out much of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed's broken parts, the Star Wars fans have spoken, making TFU the fastest-selling Star Wars title of all-time.

This is not only good news for Star Wars games in general, but more importantly LucasArts, who have recently gone through a rough patch with many of the developer/publisher's games just not doing enough on the overall radar. More than 1.5 million people - worldwide - have picked up the game in its first week on sale.
"The record-setting sales of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed shows the undiminished power of Star Wars and its popularity across all media types, including video games,"
said Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts. "We're blown away by the response to the
game."
If you haven't picked up the game yet, you can check out the AusGamers review right here.

Bit arbitrary isn't it?

Like saying you hold the world land speed record for blue cars with a beige interior trim.

Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement that Call of Duty 4 is the highest selling Call of Duty game in the series so far, followed by a competitive announcement from EA that Battlefield 3 is the highest selling Battlefield 3 ever.

In their defense, there has been a s***load of Star Wars licensed games released over the past 10 years. But it's hardly surprising because a lot of have been crap.

I suppose it impressive that it has beaten KOTOR and KOTOR 2 though.

I don't think I'll be getting this game. From what I've heard you don't really get to make many choices in the game, to the point where you don't even 'steer' the character's movement... you just wave your stick around to make force powers. That sounds a bit wrong.

Do you think there will ever be another game as good as Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast multiplayer before they fixed the bugs and everyone stopped playing it?

It would've been too complicated, remember?

I don't mind it not coming to PC, as long as TFU doing well translates into some new star wars games for the PC that Don't Suck™. At least I can hope anyway... A new X-Wing title would be great!

And some mad props to our local Brisbane games developer Krome Studios;

LucasArts and developer Krome Studios have created an equally enthralling version of /Star Wars: The Force Unleashed/ on the Wii™ home videogame system from Nintendo, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, and n-Space, Inc., developed a version for Nintendo DS™. All feature the same storyline, with opportunities to unleash the Force in devastating new ways.

Still think the PSP version is the best in terms of content of all platforms - having the single player game, 4-player multiplayer (deathmatch + king of the hill), a survival mode, Jedi Duel & a "historical" scenario mode. Fair bit of stuff to do in such a small package & well worth the purchase if you're a Star wars fan & have a psp - Krome did a good job with the title I thought.

For some reason I believe this game should not come out for PC. It's meant for consoles I guess. That's just me but what do you guys think?

It's on pretty much everything but PC Bah.

At lucasarts they love Playstation 2s better than PCs.

seconded. I reckon a well-made X-wing game would be awesome, but of course it'd only be fun on the PC, so it probably wouldn't sell as much :(

I've been playing it on the Wii.

It is kinda Meh. It is fun to pick things up with the force and whack stuff with it. I find it to be really, really repetitive.

The Boss Battles are boring. You kick the bosses butt for a little while then when you have nearly kill them you 'finish' them off by doing a real cheapened version of one of those cinematic games where you need to push the right button at the right time, except you wave the left stick or the right stick. Do that a couple of times and you've killed the boss.

O and the Camera angles are really, really annoying. Many a time I've had to wait for the camera to swivel around so I could continue what I was doing, and many a time I've attacked stuff behind me without waiting for the camera, sorta hoping I hit storm troopers.

I hired it out from Blockbuster for one night finished in less then 6 hrs :( went back through it to find all the holocrons I missed. Soooo glad I didn't buy it first, great story though I liked playing it but if they want my hard earned $$ then they got to make worth my while.

Man I love this game, although playing it on Apprentice difficulty being slightly easy in parts, I attempted a go at Sith Lord difficulty and found it a little troubling.

Very fun game, I can never get enough of just throwing storm troopers off cliffs and into giant lasers beams for them to burn up or get sucked away. Very very fun game.

Props to creators, they did make a fun game.

CAN NOT WAIT FOR RED ALERT 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would make a much better console game I reckon.

X-Wing/Tie Fighter are probably the best space sim games on the PC (yes better than wing commander) I'd love to see a new version of these games. I lost many hours at Uni playing these games on my 386.
