On the back of the SIM Card will be a serial number, contact Optus and ask them to search out the account based on that number. You'll need to be the account holder to get this info though.

That would be an option, except there's no credit. Presumably, he's tried that and that's why he knows there's no credit.

put it in a phone then use the menu to find "my number" only works if the number is burnt into the sim, lots of times it isn't |

Most phones will know their own number.

That would be an option, except there's no credit. Skipped over the no credit part - my bad. I tried that *#100# on Vodafone & Optus with no luck. If you're with Optus, try their online account management. It sends you an SMS with a verification code when you create your account. In there will be your mobile number. |

You've been told twice the best option - call Optus and read them the SIM serial number and ask them to match it up with their records.

Did anybody else notice that yellow_feet responded like he was heavy_rocker? I guess that solves that mystery, if there was one to begin with.

Does 1800REVERSE work?
Surely it would prompt you saying "you are receiving a call from this number, and Then youll get the number etc |

How important is knowing this number? Surely you it would be cheaper and less effort just to buy a $5 recharge or just buy a new SIM.
If you're that stuck on it, go to an Optus store and ask them to look up the number for you, and then pay them in-store to recharge it for you. |
