Big Kart Track - big, but friggin slow. No passing cos everyone's doing the same speed. After i learnt the track, I had my foot pinned to the floor the whole track, corners and all. So did everyone.
Kingston Park - yeah, thats more like it. Only problem is it can get a bit overcrowded at times, there seems to perpetually be 150 bogans there at once. A lot faster karts (if you don't brake, you're in the wall), you're unlikely to hit top speed before you run out of road though.

I havent been to anywhere else, but i'd definitely go back to Kingston Park but not to the Big Kart Track.

totally agreed! we did that for a work function once. Best fun in the wet, would be pretty lame on a dry track though.

yeah same experience here - big kart track was yawn in the dry, but when it started sprinkling it was super fun, until they shut it down like fun police. that was at least 10 years ago tho, dunno if they still do that. my guess is no cos business would have to be pretty dry

and it would have to rain in SEQ

(this attempt at a joke would have worked better before last weeks announcement regarding 40% dam levels and less water restrictions)

it rains all the time in SEQ, Joe just put our dams in the wrong spots. No idea if it was actually Joe that did that, but we like to blame him for all the bad stuffs.

the schumacher karts at Kinston Park are pretty awesome. Not overly fast, but they drive nice.

I don't think weight plays too much of a part when karting. You might accelerate a bit slower on the straights, but the extra downforce seems to help in the corners. (srsly) You can make up more time by better racing lines/technique than a few less kgs would get you.

Yeah I've been to Kingston Park with a large guy - he had to go in a special cart

how large are we talking? I've never had a problem, but I'm not overly huge.

the schumacher karts are roomier than the old ones anyway.

yeah weight doesn't make THAT much of a difference.

new karts at kingston are slower too, but not by much and they atleast work.

Well I think it just had a wider seat, that's all.

karting in paradise > rest. Best track which has undulations and runs up the side of a small hill. karts arn't bad either and the packages they have are better value than at Kingston.

Never been to the big kart track though, but always looked pretty crappy.

Take a 60kg kid vs a 120kg man and you see how many sub minute lap's the little f***ers will do... yes im a little jaded :P The twin carts at Kingston WOULD be good if you could ever get near the f***ing time to qualify which is something like 55 seconds.... But having said that going flat out around the corners at Kingston is not the way to get a quick time.

Kingston's carts are f***ing slow and apparently the Shumacher carts are not much quicker.

Archerfield carts are 2 stroke and are apparently quicker but I haven't been yet.

Yeah it is. Only brake for the end of the main straight. The rest is all right foot.

They are slower, by a second or so. But you don't Mark Webber every race like you did with the old karts.
