Unleaded, err .. software suround can only do so well at making it sound like something is behind you.

If you have 4 point speakers with 2 sitting behind you that's alot more effective hey.

I made myself a set of four-speaker headphones. Sounded sweet as but weighed about 3kilos so they're totally useless.

apparently there is technology soon available, where headphones produce surround sound. I heard this somewhere, anyone know anything about it?

Umm... that is extremely old technology... has been out for ages....

Well, obviously that magazine is far behind the times... I read a review of Sony virtual AC3 headphones over a year ago (might be even 2 or more years ago) and EAX and A3D both have this feature too.
