Not bad....i was expecting a little more from it to be honest. It starts out slow in the beginning like all of these types of games.I like the idea of the home city.

i went to have some fun times in multi however in the space of 1-2 hours i managed to connect to 2 games... o yeah.. i didnt get to play said games cause i was kicked for sync problems in the first 2 mins..

ok.. so i get the s***s with that.. but hey i got single player campaigns to look forward too..

mmm got up to the one where you have to defend the 3 temples.. on medium deficaulity.. and gg its f***ing hard and frustrating... ai is pretty good.. maybe i should play it on easy..

I think I'm gonna take back NFS: Most Wanted and trade it for this. Most Wanted gets old after about 3 days and has no replay value :(

Haven't had a chance to play the full game much yet, but from what I have played, I really like skirmishes and multiplayer, but the single player campaign bores me to tears.

Anyone have the patch installed and still get sound cut outs, the sound will just stop.
f***ing annoying, have to exit the game, end the task in task manager and then rejoin the game.

what s***s me the most.. (yes still going through the campaigns..) is the f***ING UNITS THAT ARE MEANT TO STAY IN FORMATION JUST f***IN WANDER OFF WHERE THE f*** THEY LIKE AND THERES NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT

I disliked the game because of the era everything is set in. I f***ing hate that colonial era. Arrows or machine guns, not f***ing muskets which look like ass and come with puffy red hats.

So yeah,

I loved it but it's not really that much different to AoEII/AoM so if you weren't a fan skip it. Honestly though I'd not bother with the demo because the download size renders it not worth bothering and you're better off just going and getting a copy somewhere with a return policy.

*chuckle at Adam* I don't mind some of the colonial era stuff but I usually play the Egyptians in such games and there were none to be had *sniffle*

I love how many different ways there are to get resources. It always bugs me in RTS games when you mine all the resources in a map and then it just turns into a big war of attrition to see who runs out of resources first. Whereas in AOE3 you've got so many different ways to get resources, even if you've mined everything out, you have your trade routes and factories and shipments from home cities and farms and plantations and it rocks.

Also, the ship based combat looks really cool, so satisfying unleashing a broadside from one of your ships and watching it tear into your enemy, punching holes in their ship, ripping off the mast, etc. I love how intricately the damage is modelled, on buildings as well, makes you feel like you really are hurting them, makes battles very satisfying.

And asifn't colonial stuff. A row of musketeers all firing in sequence looks infinitely cooler than archers firing arrows. And I always get a laugh out of watching cannon balls skip along the ground and skittle infantry.
