The GameArena Battlefield 2 Competition, where players were playing for a total prize pool of AUD $40,000 has been decided with AK taking out the number one spot and walking away with a cool $20,000 for their trouble.

The Competition was the largest online money competition for the year in Australia, hosted by Bigpond GameArena and sponsored by both Telstra BigPond and EA Games Australia, following a single elimination format the tournament run for a total of 9 weeks.

Second place went to 6P, with AEF taking out third and Zilch taking out fourth spot.

For a full list of positions in the competition, check out the final standings page right here on GameArena. Gratz AK, gimmie some money!

I played in the comp it was fun, but fark there are some good bf2 clans out there.

I must admit that having a cash prize for a tournament like this is quite an achievement so hi5 it!!

Where was the $40K 5 years ago! Darn it!

Well done to AK, I'm sure they could pay a few bills with that cash injection.

yeah i played in the comp (clan lex talionis).

unfortunately we got the s***test draw, and we were up against AK (comp winners) in the second round, but to our credit their winning margin over us was their lowest in the whole comp. we were pretty close to beating them at one stage infact. super intense battle on mashtuur.

Marty: fagtal1ty took out the CPL World Tour final in NYC for painkiller and won $150k for that one game and $231k for the whole tour.

It was televised on MTV, and you can watch an on-demand stream from MTV Overdrive

Thanks champ.. congrats Fatality.. I hear alot of raving from people whom say "I could beat him" etc etc but obviously not..

Hey Terminator, why nuke my post, there was no swearing or any racist language used.. It was my voiced opinion of Gamearena whom (i hate to break it to you) that 90% of people would agree on..

Or maybe your just a loyal worker for GA/Bigpond?

Cheers.

I beg to differ Strex ole pal. AEF was alot closer to beating AK than Lt ever was. Mind you that might of had something to do with the fact that we scrimmed AK upto 3 times a week for the duration of the whole comp. Even after that they still gave us a right whacking in the semi finals. I hate to say it mate but LT aren't a pacth on what they used to be and even then they weren't anything that would raise any eyebrows. :P
