Well, seems like it's storytime again.
My brother picked up a PSP a few weeks ago, with it we bought Lumines and Burnout. Lumines is absolutely brilliant. So this week when I saw a second hand copy of F1 2005 up for sale, I thought "ahh what the f***". Now I'm a bigtime F1 Challenge '99-'02 person, and quite good at it I can safely say. I can only say that F1 2005 just highlights a number of things which I already knew. 1. That racing sims on consoles are absolute s***. 2. That this game should never have been released. And most importantly: 3. Buy before you try is a stupid idea, but of course the gaming companies/distribs whinge when we pirate games (even if we buy the games), and wonder why we complain when they're releasing such crap. I'll give you an example of how greaaaaat this game is. Qualifying at Catalunya (Spain), they're doing 58s. Real life times would be more like 1:14s. Come the race, they're all doing 1:25s. Woopwoopwoop. 3rd lap and I've lapped half the field. Sakhir (Bahrain), I get turned around by some asshat. Due to a lovely 'feature' in the game, I get bogged on the side and just can't go anywhere. Now might be a good time to mention that the controls in this game are UTTER CRAP! The digital controls are bad, the analogue controls are... WTF IS THIS, I didn't tell it to do a 180 ffs! ... but I admire the maneouverability they gave the cars which usually have about a 30 meter turning circle :D So on top of the game being absolute crap, what else could I possibly have to complain about with this game? Oh yes, load times. If anyone's played Burnout Legends... well, the load times in this game are pretty similar. Honestly, what the hell were Sony thinking with this UMD format?! For the games they're relasing, omg it is so danm slow! All I can say is I'm sure as hell glad I didn't dish out the $80 RRP for this game. Think that one's going to be gathering a lot of dust, while I try to catch up with my brothers 400,000+ scores on Lumines :) |

Burnout loads in about 1-3 seconds from teh Memory stick ;)
I honestly think its better to buy the game then iso it so it loads faster. I can't say that the psp is a very 'up and go' system. Loading times are pathetic, the screen scratches easily, its fragile and there's TERRIBLE Download play issues (Burnout took 10 minutes dead set to get the game working on my friend's PSP, after which he promtly ran out of batteries and the system turned off. |

Isn't that the reason to buy from stores like EB with a 7 day return policy?

there's still a limit to the amount of times you can change games with EB. But I do believe Blockbuster rents out PSP games. No idea how good their selection is though.

Game in point, GranTurismo 4. I played a bit more of it the other night and it's just so much bulls***. |

Haha! Really? And that was Sony's 'Revolutionary' racing game that was the best and most ultimate racing game ever because of the stupidly high amount of vehicles.
There goes any last reason I had for buying a PS2. Forza and Gotham FTW. |

GT Legends .. get the demo from GA. try and beat my 1.32.9 around the long track in the lotus!I'm obviously useless at these racing games - I was happy when I managed to complete a lap! Never mind how fast it was. Did you have all the realism stuff turned on? Damn, it was hard. |

He says that that took him the trip to uni, and a uni lecture to get that.
I do have to admit it's a pretty impressive score though. I'm barely breaking 100,000 myself. |
