Im trying to speed up my game because Im only getting 16-40fps in hl/dod/cs. I rember back in the day I used to get a constant 100fps on this same system.

What can I do to speed the game up?
What display mode should I try (its currently 800x600 on GL)
What commands can I use?

my system specs;
1.8 celeron
528mb ram
fx 5200
160gb HD

get a pentium processor, celeron;s are slow

your pc is terrible, but these few should help

cl_particlefx 0
cl_weatherdis 0

you'll get more frames in cs than dod tho.
