Hey, has anyone watched any of these yet? Both have just started and they look like decent viewing and both have extra-terrestrial stuff in them also.
Threshold
From producers David Heyman, David Goyer, and Brannon Braga, and written by Bragi Schut, revolves around a female government contingency analyst who leads a team of scientists and military personnel who get in contact with a mysterious alien lifeform. Blade writer/director Goyer is on board to direct the Paramount Network TV pilot.

Invasion
Man has searched the skies for centuries and has never come up with conclusive evidence to prove the existence of other forms of intelligent life. What if we have been looking in the wrong place? What if there were other forms of intelligent life already living among us? What if perceived natural disasters were really diversions created to conceal clandestine alien activities?

When a small town at the edge of the Florida Everglades is threatened by a raging hurricane, U.S. Park Ranger Russell Varon must go to great lengths to protect the small community and his family safe. During the storm his young daughter claims to have seen mysterious lights, seemingly unaffected by the gale-force winds, floating near the water. Varon dismisses the sighting, but begins to wonder if there really was some truth to the story after his missing ex-wife turns up naked and her memory of the storm is completely gone.

While the community begins to clean up after the storm and piece their lives back together, Varon begins to investigate the strange happenings as he tries to make sense of what is happening.

You don't have to get Threshold Troy, *wink*

Threshold seems a bit interesting, very cheesy, but interesting. It has a token midget busting out one liners. The special forces ("ghosts") people are pretty retarded, they have the slowest reactions ever.

Threshold I'm really enjoying but Invasion isn't looking to promising after watching the first episode.

Surface is another one just released along the same lines and I thaught the first ep of that one was very watchable indeed.

Two other shows worth a look:

Supernatural (The WB)

The Night Stalker (ABC - remake of Kolchak: The Night Stalker)

Both have production links with The X-Files and deal with real life spookies...no aliens here...

Ok. I decided to go with Threshold and have watched the first ep, and damn is it cool. An unidentified flying object is tracked out off the US coast and stops beside some navy vessel during the night. Some weird stuff goes down and everyone on board is killed except for one dude. And from here it looks like an alien life form is using his body as a host and is planing on wiping out the human race, sorta like Invasion of the Body Snatchers style.

About to watch ep two now. Can't wait!

As trog said
I don't care if you do it, but don't talk about how you get it, no matter how cleverly you try to disguise it.
Watch how you are talking about these tv eps you are watching that aren't on tv over here yet or they will get nuked.

Threshold is worth some more eps. The lead female is a bit annoying, so is her child.

How I Met Your Mother - First ep was extremely funny, with some big laughs. Good acting (though a little stilted), not sure if it will be able to keep it up for the whole season, but you will enjoy episode 1.
a romantic comedy on CBS set in 2030 that revolves around the story of how Ted (voiced by Bob Saget) met his children's mother 25 years prior. Younger Ted (played by Josh Radnor) is sick of being single and after his best friend gets engaged Ted is motivated to begin looking for his true love. Ted is "helped" out by Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), a slick-talking friend with the odd habit of always wearing suits to bars.

My Name Is Earl - This is very funny, and looks like it will be a very good series.
The series follows Earl Hickey, a no good bastard who is the personification of white trash. But, when Earl wins the lottery only to lose the ticket, he has an epiphany about karma. He realizes that by treating people poorly, he's done himself wrong and immediately sets out to be a better man. As soon as he makes this decision, the ticket blows into his reach again. With his lottery money, Earl declares to right every wrong he's done with the help of his brother Randy and a motel maid named Catalina. But while Earl attempts to use his money for the greater good, his ex-wife demands that he pay up.

Bones - Not your typical crime drama. Based on the work of some novelist my gf likes, fair bit of funnies many rude.

Huh? I've watched 3 eps and she doesn't have a kid. Plus I reckon the lead chicky babe is hot.

I've also watched the 1st ep of My Name Is Earl, and yeah, it does look like it'll be pretty good. So many awesome shows around at the moment.

In around 5 weeks, Canada will pick up where US SciFi left off. UK's Sky TV will pick up SG-1's season around xmas time. Both Canada and the UK will end up finishing before the US...again...
