I think any girl could actually dress up enough to look hot without actually being good looking at all.

Example:

They wear tight jeans, some fancy shoes, nice tight shortsleeve top with that slash thing underneath, euro sunglasses, lip gloss and a trucker hat, some nice earings and they're hot imho.

I get tricked by clothes :(

i find a healthy shape is really attractive, not too fat or thin but doesn't have to be a "perfect" size. most healthy girls my age i would consider hot.

Maybe these girls do it for themselves, to have some more confidence, to feel better about themselves, and because it can be fun to just be able to change the way you look so easily if you feel so inclined.

Maybe its some of the male attitude showcased here that makes girls feel as though they need to be doing these things to get any sort of respect and approval from the opposite sex.

Im a great appreciator of aesthetics as much as the next person, but there is ohhh so much more than that.

I will get dressed up when it is called for..but I think the main consensus is that when it is called for it is okay.. but silly things like going to the shop, or going to check the mail is just silly.

I know someone whos ex used to go to sleep after them and then wake up before them to run off and put on their makeup.... he never saw her natural their entire relationship.

That, in my opinion, well beyond normal and there are plenty of women out there like that

i also have a girlfriend that is fairly simmilar, she owns 2 skirts, i have only ever seen her in 1 of them. however my girl is gourgous, so it doesn't really matter what she wairs. she does put make up on even if she is just coming around for dinner though, i have always been against makeup, natural beauty > artifiicial beauty. now i gotta work out how to tell my gf that. :D
