Last night I went to the video store and decided to look for the stupidest looking b grade movie I could find as they usually end up kicking ass.

I was walking down the aisle when this caught my eye.
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7284/classof19999ng.jpg
The cover alone definitely showed promise.
This is the blurb as it appeared on the back.

"faced with increasing violence in the schools of 1999, the new board of government educational defence places three disciplinary robot teachers in a seattle high school. when the disciplinary actions of the teacher robots fail to subdue the unruly students, they go beserk and start killing them. in an effort to win back their school, the gangs unite in a deadly battle"

I'd found my movie!

This movie was awesome... in a really funny odgy 80s b grade awesome kind of way! Everyone should see it. It also had Malcolm McDowell in it, who plays Alex in A Clockwork Orange, which was pretty random. It seems that since that movie he's only scored really s***ty roles. Anyways, what are some other really dodgy looking movies you guys have seen that turned out to be really funny and stupid as well?

Wedlock was a pretty cool B grade movie starring Rutger Hauer and Mimi Rogers. Set in a futuristic prison all the inmates have electronic colars which are linked to another inmate. If they go a certain distance apart the colars explode taking off their heads. Anyway, they both escape and are being chased by some corrupt warden and his henchmen. Dunno how good it would be these days.

^That sounds like a rip off of the start of The Running Man, greatest of Arnie movies.

hehe Wedlock was great.

I'd add the Highlander series. The first was great, but Hollywood dragged 2 and 3 into B class by trying to hard to squeeze blood from the stone :(

Tell me what you want
Do want it missonary with your feet cramed to the head board
Do want it from the back with your face
in the pillow so you could yell as loud as you want to
Do you want it on the floor, do want it in the chair
do you want it over here, do want it over there
Do you want it in your pussy, do you want it in your ass
anything for-a hammer
anything for-a zip

Actually just saw another one lastnight, it's a "horror" movie, in my opnion it's definitely a B Grade Horror. It's called "No way up".

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0398033/

Can't have a thread about B grade films without mentioning the Evil Dead movies. Bruce Campbell is the undisputed king of B grade.

Also, another Rutger Hauer movie, remember that one where hes the blind ninja, Blind Fury I think it was called? That rocked.

Haha i loved that movie Khel!
Him walking around all kung fu like with his bamboo walking stick then bam tugs on the end and it's actually his sword (first movie i ever saw with a bamboo cane sword in it).
The fight scenes were atrocious but still very cool in a b grade fassion.

Also Beowulf in all it's terrible glory FTW

HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN
Rated R
Copyright 1987 New World Entertainment Ltd.
Reviewed a long time ago.

Sam Hell - Roddy Piper! The most fertile man left on Earth after WWIII.
Spangle - Sandra Bergman! (You know, the blonde girl from "Conan the Barbarian") She is a "Medtech" officer or something.
Captain Devling - Evil human who is selling weapons to the frogmen. Shot by Sam.
Centinella - Very sexually aggressive girl who is the ambulance gunner. Yes, the pink Medtech ambulance is equipped with a M60 machine gun.
Looney Tunes - Old man, Sam and him go back a long way. Get's shot.
Arabella - Frog woman who is sworn to battle against Commander Toty. Has a drill bit shoved through her chest.
Bull - Henchman to Toty, a very violent hopper. Roddy suplexes him to death!
Commander Toty - The king of Frogtown. Knocked off a cliff by Sam.

What can I say? It's a movie all about Roddy Piper's genitals and violent bipedal amphibians, pretty much sums it up. Nuts - Frogs.

Anyway, Earth has a nuclear war (pretty common plot) and a good deal of mankind is rendered infertile (still fairly common) by the exchange. Sam is a petty criminal who narrowly misses some serious bodily harm at the hands of Captain Devling (mean police/guards/military - very common) when the Medtechs take charge of him. Seems they are very interested in Roddy Piper's sperm count (now THIS is a new plot idea) and offer a pardon if he agrees to impregnate women in the wastelands. (HEHEHEHEHEHE!)

Soon Sam and Spangle are on a mission to rescue fertile women held captive by Commander Toty in Frogtown. In the midst of all this they fall head over heels in love with each other. Good grief. There are some amusing props, not the least of which is the electric truss thing Sam wears to protect and monitor his family jewels. When he is bad Spangle uses the truss to shock his nads, and it beeps when he gets too far away from her. (Again more nad zapping.)

Spangle's erotic dance for Commander Toty which ends with him yelling, "You have aroused the three snakes!" is not to be missed. The verbal imagry is all there; anybody else out there see Legend of the Overfiend? If the idea of a slobbering toad attempting to mount Sandra Bergman with his tri-barrel-schlong-of-doom scares you then DO NOT watch that movie. We never have to see the piece(s) of equipment in question, only three disturbing lumps in his clothing. No, I don't know if coitus with a frog is the cause of genital warts...

After a nuclear war sperm is da bomb!
Don't piss off a woman with a medium machine gun.
Having a monitoring device, complete with nut shocker, on your package, SUCKS.
Seeing a girl strip is less appealing when she's wearing really thick glasses.
Women in the military have camoflage lingerie.
Leading a woman around by a chain collar and leash is instant "Happy Thought Land."
If you're going to be sleeping with mutant frog girls keep a bag or two handy.
Being run through with a sword will not incapacitate you.
Having five women to knock up is pretty daunting.

Evil Dead ftw - pure entertainment.
Also the Hellraiser films, reanimator and I know its not really B Grade but from Dusk til Dawn needs a shout out.

Warning following is sketchy...
Does anyone remember a film with this big old tree that was made up from babies, so when you cut it blood spurted out, then theres this scene where this metal thing comes to life and is chasing a lady with her baby upstairs and theres this hag thing that tries to snatch the bubs aswell.

Saw it when I was a real youngin living overseas - stuck with me but got no idea what its called.

I remember watching this movie when I was a kid, but I can't remember the name of it...

Basically I only really remember one of two scenes, this guy sitting in the back of a limo, driving along a park road, with joggers running along side the car, he flicked a switch on the car and a blade flicked out of the car and chopped off the joggers head and it fell into a basket underneath the blade. The guy got the head and was looking at it, studying it.

I dunno if it was the same movie (I could be merging two movies here) but there was another scene in a hospital or something where a doctor was kidnapping people and giving them lobotomies.

It was mid eighties i think, just a trashy B-grade horror, but I'd be interested to know the name of it if anyone knows what it is?

Horror Hospital is what you're thinking of Wet.
In swinging '70s London, Jason (Robin Askwith), a Brian Jones doppelgänger, grows weary of the rock scene and decides it's time for a vacation. He responds to a flyer for a "Hairy Holiday" and meets up with Judy (Vanessa Shaw) on the way, but they soon find that their resort is actually a Hippie-to-Zombie Conversion Center, complete with crazed researcher (Michael Gough), evil midget, and lobotomized longhairs. The doctor harvests human heads with a retractable blade attached to his limousine and runs his zombies via remote control. A monster who appears to be made of Silly Putty stalks the grounds and claims an unlucky victim or two, until the midget and heroes plan their escape from the goonatorium. Gough claims some great chewable dialogue (Peter Cushing must have been busy), the midget has a great pathos-laden death scene, and a toxic waste site is also crammed into the overstuffed plot. It's not quite funny enough to be a horror comedy, but there's enough gore to give it the feel of a later-era Hammer film.

Years back a group of mates and I used to get set up with some drinks and the best B grade movie we could find. We saw some great ones but the one that stood out was called McBaine (no, it wasn't a Simpsons movie). True B grade American war movie complete with 2 $10 model planes on fishing line locked in deadly combat. We must have watched that scene 100 times. My guess is it wouldn't have the same impact if you were sober. Those were great days. The guy at the video store even started putting aside B grade movies for us :)

I dont consider House of 1000 Corpses or Devils Rejects B grade....I think they'll become cult movies. Its a bit of a shame House is so similar to Texas Chainsaw Massacre though, but props to Rob Zombie for doing his own thing!
