Which C & C game had the tesla coils and those awesome electric fences?

I just found the full boxset in my garage and want to figure out which game it was cause I love those two features :P

Red Alert.

Best RTS ever.

However, I don't believe I remember seeing any electric fences? Just concrete and barbed wire fences. Sifnt make a WALL of TESLA COILS anyway *drool*

Generals Zero Hour gets my vote for the funnest RTS ever, closely followed by red alert and war2.
Just got act of war the other day, yet to come to a decision on how good it is - very pretty looking, so far seems to be generals on steroids.

Also if anyone wants to have a game of zero hour post here, we have lan games atleast once a day, but we are pretty noob.

Oh yeah, redalert and redalert2 had the tesla coils, dont remember electric fences, however it had normal walls.

Brood Wars would be funnest.

zergling rush owned all

Generals and ZH have some awesome mods too.

www.derelictstudios.net have a couple of good ones

I must say that Dawn of War has taken over MP for me though over ZH.

Just yesterday I was drooling in EB @ the imminent winter assault expansion due early next month.

I dunno what team I prefer
- airforce and superweapon general for the cheapo wins.
- infantry and toxin are good fun

Usually just go random.

i think C&C original had the biggest impact on that style of game. it was just so much better then dune 2 and kicked ass so hard.
but warcraft3 was cool, especially tower defence

Electric fences? The only thing i can think of that comes close to that description is the Laser beam fences from Tiberian Sun. Damm those looked sweet at night time.

Also, what the others said. Tesla Coils are from red Alert. Loads of fun. (power up) Dddzzzzzzzttttt (lightning bolt release) Pppeeeeoooowwwwww!

Classic game. classic sounds. good memories. :)

TC > All other base defense in RA.

Red Alert was the biggest disappointment of the whole serious, RA2 was at least a little better. Generals is still one of my fav RTS's of the moment, but nothing can beat the original C&C.

My alltime favourite was the nod towers in the original C&C, the bent lookin suckers that had the bad ass tip that would make a freaky ass noise charging up before zapping its target, used to love trying to sneak stealth tanks past and hear it chargin up hoping it wouldnt fire

The bent look you describe is the scorpian tail figure they are built as.

^ Yup, the obelisks (sp?) rocked. Nod had all the fun stuff like stealth tanks and chem warriors. The flame tanks were also handy for engineer defense.

Stealth tanks made a really cool sound when de-cloaking and cloaking.

The whole series rocked. RA, c&c, Generals. All if it. Network games rocked of generals. We would be playing them all night at lan parties. Just having games of gernerals. and yelling. and screaming. oh god how i miss it

generals really pissed me off, i bought it and sold since the multiplayer of it got so laggy it was totally f***ed and put me off the game ... never checked out zero hour to see if they fixed it

apart from that red alert is right up there with the warcraft 3 expansion and THE best of all RTS would have to be total anihiliation where you wouldnt worry too much about resources just play the game

Zero hour is the best RTS multiplayer you could ever experience. Do you not realise how popular zero hour was online.

They balanced it fairly well after some updates, it was the first RTS to really adress strategic advantages in depth, you couldn't just rush with a s*** load of units and expect to win. Thats why everyone loved it :-D. Well i did.

I am surprised there are not more ZH players on qgl. I was obsessed with playing that game for the best part of 6 months. I lost my original Generals CD's, so i cant play zh atm :P. so upset about that.

edit: woops i forgot - starcraft was good to, but i reckon ZH is better :).

Also, Red Alert had barb wire but no electric fences. I think Tiberian Sun had electric fences.

Red Alert was so much fun... even wrote about it on my qcs (Tesla coils ftw, silly topic on electricity and light). Its up there with WC3: FT.
Tiberian Sun sucked balls... found Generals too slow.

I just found it too slow (TFT was more appealing to me then and even now), never got into it...tho Hermitech and the others got really into it.

Zero Hour is one of the best expansions for a game I have experienced. It added a s***load to the original.
