just thought u guys might like to know that ghost in the shell: stand alone complex will be on sbs at 10pm tomorrow night.

i hope the tv series will be as good as the movie.

I loved the movie but haven't bothered watching the series. Someone let us know if it's good or not.

Get someone to tape it, encode it and send it to you via the intertron. I cant do it cause I dont have a Tv-Puter cable. I have TV-in on my vid card tho :/

my sbs is as clear and crisp as all the other channels (apart from briz31)

Well no, that would kinda defeat the point now wouldn't it? Unless you are barely receiving a signal in your area (as opposed to merely bad reception), digital TV will work perfectly.

The series is pretty good ... lotsa gritty action and decent story lines throughout the series.

Can get slow in parts due to investigation type stories but ones like episode 4 i think it is with the tank are just fantastic and will blow you away with the awesome animation and action sequences.

the action parts are alright... theres tonnes of talking though
after factoring out the intro and end, the show is about 18 minutes long. I once recorded a soliloquy by the major that lasted just over 6 minutes. Thats 1/3 of an episode, of uninterrupted blabbing from a single character in the story of an animated series.

Put me off all of stand alone complex.

Definately faster and better just to read the manga volumes...

It's quite good imo. The action is a bit faster paced and it's a lot more story. The characters like to talk... but really adds to the depth imo.

Later in the series they look at things like addiction to cyberspace (hacking etc...). You can almost relate it to the crazies in china who are addicted to EQ/WOW etc...

Deal with morals of mixing man and machine. How a world run by computers can be affected by hackers and viruses. Also Globalisation.

It's really well done, and keeps me buzzed every minute. There is one ep which is just a bunch of people talking in cyberspace really. I think they are trying to make people think a little more rather then look at guns etc... Then they put them in to make you smile ^_^

What about the chick who goes round the whole ep with the bikini bottom type things, i mean wtf..
Whe she was getting talked to by her boss and the camera was behind her all i could think of (besides her hot anime arse) was that simpsons ep where homer is the baseball mascott getting talked to by he team owner and the owner finishs by saying "And for gods sake ma put on some pants"

That movie that was after the Ghost in the Shell episode was coooool too, Assassin Princess or some such. Lots of choppy and stabby and the pain!

You know they're playing GITS 2: Innocence at the Reel Anime festival at the Dendy later in the year?
