This thread is actually kind of interesting, as I reckon it shows that most of us have realised that these days you dont' need to have the latest and greatest to get pretty good performance in just about every piece of software out there.

My system:

CPU: AMD AthlonXP Mobile 2600+ @ 2.6GHz (equal to about 3600+ or more)
Mobo: ABIT NF7-S v2 with a few mods
Cool.: Thermalright ALX800
RAM: 2 x 512MB Hynix D43 @ ~220MHz dual-channel
GFX: Built-by-ATi 9700 non-pro @ 387/333 (roughly 9800 pro specs)
Case: Skyhawk thingy, lots of mods
PSU: Tagan 480W
HDD: 60GB WD JB PATA, 160GB Seagate 7200.7 SATA
Monitor: 21" DELL P1130 (FD Trinitron)
Peripherals: MX-700, sexy keyboard, Canon PIXMA iP4000, Pioneer 16x DVD-ROM, Vantec fan controller thingy.

It's all fricken old but still runs everything awesomely - probably cause it's all overclocked to the bejeezus. And the 9700 is a DX9.0 part which makes a big difference.

And a couple of pics cause I can:

Raptor makes a differance in performance definatly. Basicly there is all this ubur fast stuff in the machine, but the hdd lags it out, the faster the hdd, the better.

Highly recommend one. Better yet, get two and put it in a raid :D
