I noticed earlier that Google Maps now has maps of Brisbane. (Closeups)

I've been looking around finding a few landmarks, and I devised a game. I will pick a location, and you have to guess where it is. It has to be a landmark, or major road etc... Suburb and Name of location/Road is required.

just looks like s a program very similar to worldwind

except whirlwind is huge, takes a download to function and is very slow to load images. This thing is super quick, painless and all around s***s on whirlwinds dirtyness.

How do you link to the current co-ordinates that you are viewing?

Must be a few years, at least for Brisbane. The PA is still under construction in the maps but it has been finished for about 2 years now.

i bet you there's some governments that aren't too happy about it.

The maps, of canberra anyway, are more than 2 months old. Not too shabby at all.

the suburbs are ALL there, the wh9ole of brisbane is mapped, you cant find it by typing in suburb name like he did for masnfield, dont knwo why.

Start in brisbane, find a landmark - get your bearings, follow the main road you travel on back to your house, easy. theres lots of cool stuff on here.

I think this photo imagery could be almost a year old at the most, but alot of things are missing that are now built. like a whole estate near me for example. I think its about 8 months old.

Is this section here f***ed up for anyone else?

urr, in case you didnt realise, It didnt find mansfield either... but the search was embeded in the link, so it keeps coming up, I had to scroll around to find my house etc... but its all there...

does anybody remember a while ago someone posted area 51 with that google map thing and you could zoom in heaps to see the american government ahah it was funny i went back to the link and it wont let you zoom in close like it used to :/

well i heard its like in the middle of no where and nobody can get in. the government was just trying to make it like it doesnt exist until google made this and someone found it but yeah you cant see the pics anywhere as detailed as before.

that looks like a power plant or something. it is pretty close to built up areas but no so far away from cairo. is it a test site of some sort? it looks like a flame or explosion? do you know what it is stormwolf?

Actually, having a closer look at it now, I'd say its some sort of power plant yeah. Looks like a gas / oil fire blast. You can see a bit of smoke drifting south of the flame. Thats my guess anyway.

these pics are more than 6months old....my grandparents granny flat isnt even starting to be built in those photos...and its about 6months old already, so google mustve taken a while to get them all fully working etc
