Hey folks,

Forgive me if i'm flogging a dead horse here, but has a new venue been found for QGL? It's been so long since the last one, are people even still looking for a new venue?

I dont think the admins / most of the gamers that used to organise and play at QGL lan can be bothered anymore.

Personally I am totally over lanning now and broadband is all that I need!

it was only a matter of time before internet gaming was convenient and good enough for people not to care about lanning

I'm having a LAN at my place when the full version of BF2 gets released. Can have about 20 people max so if you guys are interested let me know.

See thats the problem. The chances of that happening are slim. At a LAN its alot easier to organise a game. Plus you can just grab a random if you need teamies.

And most of all NO HAX

LAN for the win

LoL Goody, thats what it feels like!

I can't understand the whole "i'm not going to lans because I have broadband" thing, the atmosphere is why I go, it's just so much better when you're in the same room as the guys your playing with/against. A little bit of leeching is nice too...! ;)

It doesn't seem like the other states have hit a wall in the LAN department. Oh well, sucks to be a QLD'er i guess...

Downside of QGL LANs:

1. Squished with several incredibly smelly people on the same table.
2. Firewall goes insane due to the amount of port and share scanning.
3. *walks past someone showing off his latest porn vid*
4. *walks past legion of mindless CS kiddies*

Now, I can play on GA to have a much better-smelling experience, killing some of the same players in-game.

In anticapation of buying BF2, is someone going to start a sought of QGL clan? i imagine you need a rather mighty big player base to have a clan, so what better place. Anyone keen enough to organise it??

You'd think this forum would've died years ago soon after the fall of mighty qgl lans. I mean that's is what it was all about and if that's dead then what's left ?

Yet more people have signed up with the forums more than ever before.

I find that amazing.

We could combine the next lan and a 4wd meet.

Do a breaking test by lining up CS players and see how many you ran over before the brakes worked ...

hmm that wouldn't work, I'd accelerate.

I couldn't find anything I liked. They all look like boxes on wheels. I do like the jeep wranglers though...

You know, if you got the angle right, it might be possible to drive straight over a falcon with a gay pack.

Although yours with lockers and a lift is probably gonna do better than the old subaru ... only advantage I have is the fact that I don't care if it explodes or falls over and I have to leave it behind :)

Little Suzuki's absolutely kick ass for 4wding.

the ppl who do go 4WDing, you may know of a huge red sand/dirt hill out west. In the corner of QLD. Just out of a town called Birdsville. But it this way. All the drivers are experienced drivers. The little suzuki Got up this huge ass sand hill first go! the little thing flew up it with 4 passengers. One nissan Patrol got up on 3rd go, with passengers and gear, And another Patrol got up on the 7th. (Slightly Heavier than the rest) And the Ford Hilux ute (Chuck wagon) Got up on the 14th go. it was carring all the heave s*** tho. BBQ's, gas bottles, ect ect.

How about you get a real 4wd obes, some lockers maybe, tires bigger than 26"s, and maybe lift your car enough to get over a speed bump, HA.
