I"ve got some good news and some bad news.Let’s start with the good.... (tumble weed passes by)Ok, and now onto the bad: DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 is the last version you"ll ever see.We hoped this day would never come, but it has, and I can promise you, nobody is more gutted about it than I am. Ok so it has taken a while (almost 2 years), but eventually "a certain company" has decided they don"t like what I"m doing (circumventing their protection) and have come at me like a pack of wolves. I"ve no choice but to cease everything to do with DVD Decrypter.I realise this is going to be one of those "that sucks - fight them!" kinda things, but at the end of the day, it"s my life and I"m not about to throw it all away (before it has even really started) attempting to fight a battle I can"t possibly win. Artitle Here Personally I think its a shame that LightingUk has been forced to drop support for what was and still is an awesome product |

Dear cocktard, you love hunter
In other news, dvd shrink rips the VOB files in the process of shrinking the dvd f00 ! When you rip the dvd, just go to the directory you used as cache http://img300.echo.cx/img300/3082/dvd5ho.jpg last edited by Lowgoz at 09:41:26 07/Jun/05 |

If DVD Shrink combined the features of DVD Decrypter in one neat package, I would use it and it alone and I would not be typing this message on a internet forum, but it does not, two diferent programs exist for two diferent reasons. While YES DVD Shrink does amazingly include the ability to remove macrovision protection, it lacks some of the other features that exist in DVD Decrypter when it comes to dumping DVD data to hard disk, making and burning ISO images. Thank you, good night.

I use DVD Decryptor to rip VOBs from DVDs that have movie trailers on them so I can then encode those trailers for use online. It basically just lets you rip VOBs, afaik (though i'm a few versions out of date).

you can use the "reauthor" function to remove the trailers from dvds then encode normally. yes dvd shrink is the best

"what's decrypter do that shrink doesn't?"
DVDdecrypter rips faster BUT MORE importantly, up until now could deal better with recent CSS resistant titles. DVDshrink has been abandonware since its author started working for Ahead on Nero (Recode 2). Using a combo of 'decrypter to rip and 'shrink to reauthor offered a useful combination of tools and workaround when some other de-CSS tools simply baulked. |

http://www.dvddecrypter.r8.org/ lol?
edit: Thought this might have been the site, but good chance its just a fake. Last but not least a word of warning: they may look pretty official, may even have the word official in the title, but the official DVD Decrypter homepage is down and will stay down until further notice (you'll hear it here, don't trust any report unless it comes from a reputable news site). And there will be no new version of DVD Decrypter. Perhaps the software will be able to exist in another form once the legal dust has settled, but for now the version you can find on this site is the latest. If you try anything else, you run the risk of getting infected by viruses, trojans, or whatnot. So stay away from a site that a friend of a friend heard about...oh well, ignore this post. last edited by scuzzy at 18:21:40 19/Jun/05 |
