Just scanning through ebay and I see these
Up for auction is a single pair of Adidas x Bathing Ape Bapestars. These are an extremely rare variant of the classic Adidas Superstar. They're the military-camouflaged style with the yellowed rubber toe cap (to give them that original retro look).Current price is $720. How do people justify spending that sort of money on a shoe ffs. What is the significance of it ?? It isn't like it is a work of art from some famous and dead artist... it is just a commercailly made farking shoe. god people are stupid. |

those werent available to adidas original accounts.anything in short supply can have its price set as high as people are willing to pay, and it looks like they are indeed willing to pay $720. |

I think you mean cushioned... padding is what your gf uses in her bra.

They are pretty cool shoes, however for $700 you can own many pairs of shoes. I'd prefer that option.

Nike are shocking for running shoes. They'll be comfy to start with but then the support dies (compresses). By using foam cushioning, shoes feel awesome when you first get them but it just doesn't last. Nike are starting to get a pretty poor reputation, moving more towards looks over functionality.
Personally I just got a pair of $210 Brooks Adrenaline; now they rock |

I have adidas martial arts shoes :D
have been linked to before. cost me $120 from footlocker, and they're not too bad shoes... Quite comfy and they have the look happening. But I would never pay anything like $700 for shoes... unless they were made of gold or were similarly awesome. Added Advantage is, I'm a ninja whenever i wear them (which is all the time) last edited by mongie at 14:31:30 26/Feb/05 |

for serious sports shoes brooks and nike are s***
i used to go through shoes like no ones business (using both brands mentioned, in particular nike) (playin tennis, squash, cricket, netball, basketball) for serious sport shoes new balance are the s*** i get shoes with warranty, so now when i blow the sole out of them, they replace them for me for free my sport shoes (nb 651s) are on their third incarnation i only paid for them once |

I just parted with my last pair of nikes (for the new pair) after 2 and a 1/2 years of faithful service. Bad luck to your getting s***ty shoes =P You cannot expect to get good nikes for less than ~$180 - if you do then your cheap. last edited by randy at 16:20:24 26/Feb/05 |

probably the only time i'd pay $700 for a pair of shoes if it was some super stylish one-of-a-kind dress shoe made from the leather for a sacred cow or something...
