Saw this on slashdot.org, as the subject said Mozilla Firefox 1.0.1 is available from download now.

Get it here, or grab it locally from AusGamers (BigPond users can get it from BigPond Files)

No mention about a fix for the loss of favorites bug. It still doesn't even appear on their known issues list.

How can the rest of the world know about it but not Mozilla?

I for one never had this problem with Firefox loosing my bookmarks :/ and I've been installing updates etc one on top of
another since version 0.5. Perhaps they're not putting down as a "bug" because it's not consistently produceable? I dunno I'm just guessing.

May be I'm just lucky :).

i suffered that bug once and it sucked. but there are some good extensions to help with backing up bookmarks and other stuff so it's not such a big deal now.

Dammit the cruise control buttons on my mx5 still don't work properly with FF bah!

Scrolls up as much as you want, but down works once and wont go no further.

That is the only reason I still use IE6, if they'd fix it I would use firefox no questions about it.

Hrmm maybe I should try downloading the latest logitech mouse drivers.

All your bookmarks are stored in bookmarks.html file in the profile directory. (In ix it's x:\Documents and Settings\|user name|\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\|random string|.|profile name|\), so if you're losing bookmarks, most likely you have formatted, changed profiles, or removed that file somehow.

To backup ? Simple, just copy that html file somewhere it won't get removed.

The new Firefox autoupdate should be available around March 7th. Firefox 1.0 users who aren't experienced in handling profiles during the uninstall/reinstall process may want to wait. Autoupdate will install the 1.0.1 patch automatically and preserve all current settings, without the need to uninstall/reinstall The Autoupdate feature should already be set on, as it is the default setting for Firefox 1.0. You can check for proper settings through: TOOLS ... OPTIONS ... ADVANCED ... SOFTWARE UPDATES ... check the boxes for "Periodically Check for Updates" for Firefox and My Extensions/Themes. Another setting to check is TOOLS ... OPTIONS ... WEB FEATURES ... CHECK "allow site to install software"

Just incase anyone thought the autoupdate was stuff ;)
