Who do you use?

I called NRMA and they quoted me, what I think is a pretty high premium.

Going to call GIO, but wanted to know who are the other home and contents insurers?

I use Suncorp Metway for both Home and contents and car. But since you're in Mexico, I don't know if they're available there.

I'm with NRMA and pay $450 pa for my house ($250K replacement value) + $40K contents cover.

NRMA were cheaper than others I called actually, and they had good policy terms which matter to me as well.

I pay ~$150 a year w/ ANZ, but they go through another insurer (CGU?). I'm only valued up to $25k, I believe (living in a unit).

GIO is Suncorp, just a different brand interstate.

I shopped around big time and of all the big name insurers I found AAMI to be the cheapest on Cars and NRMA to be cheapest on Home/Contents - but I went with AAMI for both because I'm a shareholder and got a discount for holding several insurance products with them.

i am with trog. CGU for house and contents. I pay about $430 a year, but that is also including house ($150k) and $80k of contents.

They are awesome coz they do off site cover for my computer up to $25k and camping gear and also acidental cover. They are the only company that covered everything i wanted.

Basically i wanted my comptuer isurred out of home in case it gets damaged.

it makes a difference to the premium what are you live in and the features etc of your house and what items you are insuring.

eg. I pay $175 a year on top of my contents insurance just to insure the mrs engagement ring.
