I havent been looking forward to a movie this much in a very long time. The Sin City movie is based on the comic series by Frank Miller.

It's being directed by Miller himself and Robert Rodrigeuz (from dusk till dawn, desperado, four rooms).
The cast is incredible and every character seems so well selected. Bruce Willis as Hartigan, Mickey Rourke as Marv and Clive Owen as Dwight.
A couple of the bad guys are played by Elijah Wood and Nick Stahl (T3, carnivale).

For the uninformed, the Sin City comics are a series of stories concerning different characters in a crime crazed city all drawn in art noir style (like the max payne cut scenes).
It is so completely different to your average super hero comic and involves a lot of gratituous violence and nudity. Miller is known for his anti censorship sentiment, so it will be very interesting to see how much of this makes it to the big screen. For instance, the character Nancy in the comics is topless in 90% of frames, but she's being played by Jessica Alba in the movies, who I very much doubt will be getting her gear off.
Anyway, I think it's safe to say that this isnt going to be another PG-13 butcher job will Miller at the helm.

The trailer is available on apple.com http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/sin_city.html and should give you a good idea on what to expect, they've really nailed the artistic style of the comics.

And before anyone even thinks about calling it a Max Payne rip off, realise that this pre-dates max by like 8 years.

It opens April 1st here, but you losers have to wait until May 12th. Cant, f***ing, wait.

There's a whole bunch of comics, with 6 good size storylines as well as a bunch of short stories, all centering around different characters.
As far as I can tell, the movie is going to be retelling the stories "Sin City", "That Yellow Bastard" and "The Big Fat Kill". All awesome.

After watching the trailer for it a while ago the movie looks like complete ass.

Fair enough it's done all artsy fartsy but it look so f***ing hard to follow with characters coming from here there and everywhere, not to mention having so many A-list actors who'll want their fair share of screen time. I haven't seen a decent Robert Rodrigeuz film in a very long time.

I hope this movie is good and will proove me wrong but it all looks like it's too much.

I sure do! I have hundreds of Phantom comics.

I recently bought the Batman Forever by Frank Miller; finally tracked down a copy in .au - I originally read my cousin's copy when I was in the US last time and really dug it. I think Miller also has another Batman but I don't know anything about it, but I'm sure its leet too.

Hey, I hate the wait too. But this is one of those times where a telesync is not going to do the movie justice.

And Reverend, I dont think the abundance of quality actors is going to be a bad thing. Im expecting a kind of pulp fiction style mash of seperate storylines, and hey that movie had enough awesome actors in it and pulled it off just fine.

So this opened in North America today and I got along to see it. Absoultely f***ing awesome, best movie I have seen in ages.
Everything is so true to the books, everything is shot for shot and word for word.
All the great moments from the books are pulled off fantastically with humor and holy f*** factor in-tact.

My favourite character was definitely Mickey Roarke's Marv, they got him so incredibly spot on.

I heard that it used to be a game which was made into a comic book series which was then made into a tv series, then back to comis book and the movie isn't the comic book series.

Then you heard retarded.

Its a comic book series made into a movie, and its more faithful than any other book -> movie conversion I have ever seen.

If you did any kind of reading on the matter, youd know she has a no nudity contract.
She's still incredibly hot though, and there's enough boobs to make up for it. Also, castrations.

All I have read about the movie is that it stayed very true to the Novel, Which includes Nudity. Hence My Question. I havn't Scoured the internet for reviews since I've read your thread; I only read a Filmforce review on the Prescreening.
