Multiplayer demos...

Im hoping BF2 has a demo, and one that comes out BEFORE the game release.

I think more companies should release their demos beforehand, it gets people playing and talking about it a lot more before it comes out.

Anyway, it seems *most* of the time those huge multiplayer demos that some games release does nothing but good for them, but there have been a few occasions where the numbers playing the demo drop dramatically after the retail version gets released.

Look at Savage and to a lesser extent UT2K4. Both of those games had an excellent multiplayer demo - it was a struggle to get into the servers at any time of day. Then they get released retail, and it seems nobody wants to buy it and continue the slaw (or in Savage's case, the stupid f***** devs didn't think to release it over here).

Now that BF2 has been pushed back to April-June, we may see a demo released.

err...u could buy savage from anywhere online - kinda just like hl2...we even had quite a few australian full game servers up and around when the demo was still strong

i always found the lizards to be slightly overpowered tho :(
