Hey guys.. Am going to join Carina Basketball club and wanting to know if anyone on these forums or anyone else you know would like to make up a team to join..

At this stage this year joining will cost $33 approx and about 8- dollars per game.

I suck at Basketball but I might be keen to play again....used to play in a 4 on 4 comp but my team only had 3 players.....we never lost a game all season and somehow got banned from the final. Hell we even won a game when 2 of our 3 players got fouled off the court (me and another guy). Helps when ya 3rd player is 6 foot 6 and can hit a basket from half way down the court.

I used to play under the basket.....he would grab the ball off a rebound and throw it straight to me....instant 2 points :)

used to ref out there a fair bit, till I stepped in a political dung heap & got banned ;)

A grade play Monday, B grade Tuesday and C Grade Wednesday. B and C also apparantly play Thursday nights tooo...

there's no such thing as CBA anymore man :) It's been renamed QABL in QLD, which is a part of the ABA (aust bball assoc)..

If you're after good uniform sets at a decent price - try getting in touch with Dunk - they sponsor the team I play in at Boondall & the gear we've got is fantastic (not to mention inexpensive compared to some of the other uniform places around)..

haha Jubs: Chris (the large guy on our team) got so fired up. I swear its cheating having 3 dudes in your team that can dunk, its also cheating having Keiren, he's a 1 man offense!

Marty if you get desperate I might play ok, I live at Mt Gravatt so it aint bad for me, however I currently have Cricket Training on Tuesday nights so that could quite possibly become and issue.

Stick: what division you play? Me and imit are div 8, same as jubblies, if ya in need of a player some nights lemme know I'm always keen for some extra exercise (just lemme know in advance if possible, gf wouldn't like sitting through 2 games...)

stick plays 10, i play a2, the div 10 game often needs players but i dont think anyone one could get away without paying money as most players are pretty ancy with the court fees. My back is f***ed atm so i wont be playing for atleast 2weeks anyhoo.

Hi. I play basketball. I bounce the ball and throw it. Sometimes it goes to people, other times it goes near the ring.

massive edit cause I just re-read it! hahaha I played for 5 mins in a game of div 10 ( was meant to score but they only had 4 to start so i filled in) I got 5-6 blocks and a couple of assists (refused to shoot) and then subbed off, other team complained to the ref to make sure I didn't come back on.... dirty older blokes.

And Sunday night is the worst night of the week to play. Imo ppl just want to relax before the next days work.

My local half court (Boondall) usually has a lot of action on sunday afternoons, but its really street ball and too easy to dominate.

Id like to play some semi-serious pick up games, preferrably on a indoor court (im prepared to share in the costs of same?)

Id also like to get into a team at Boondall if anyone is short a player.

Fade might vouch for me :)

I live in Taigum... that GIO court is full of hackers. Come down and play some competition basketball on a Monday night...

i'll see if I can arrange a court for some pick-up (ie. improvised, anyone can play) games for next weekend.

Marty: before signing up for a grade, go down and watch the players closely, at auchenflower they don't grade s***.. 10 is the easiest by far but go much lower and you find pretty much the same players from divs 6-9 playing in different teams and there isn't much of a difference in skill level (mostly the teams that ahve been together longer are in grades 6~7 etc).

Hell we lost in div 7 and then after I was talking to one of them whilst scoring, he said he played div 2 as well and we'd beat 50% of the teams in that grade (and we just lost div 7....)

divs 3-9 are all pretty simialar.

possibly the only real difference between divs 3-9 is that generally as you go down in divs (towards 3) the average player height go's up a bit.

And then there are teams like ours that rock the world :P
