If my experience has taught me anything it's that everyone has at least one mate that knows how to install a car audio system. Ask around

My brother does it for a living, and he comes to you. Cost depends on the car too, if its a new car its cheaper. 0438448018

I would highly recommend asking a mate, cause most stores are a rip. I would guess that if you buy all the gear from a place and ask the same place to put it in aswell, then it would be round $100-250. However most places charge around $80-$150 just to install a head unit if you access the gear elsewhere...
What stuff you getting? |

I've never gotten any of my gear installed, i've done it myself, but they are fairly dodgy. When I get a different car, it will be straight to northfield for a fitout.
Also, one of my mates got two 12" Type S subs and a Class-D amp for $600 from the crapalaba store. |

if its an easyish install (ie no fabrication) seriously learn to do it or get a cluey mate to do it. i'm an audio engineer and really its not rocket science to install a car stereo.
only time i'd pay is if you needed to have entire door pods & sound deadening installed etc. |

Its a fairly easy thing to do, youll easily find someone to do it for you for minimal price(my standard charge is around one sixpack)
Doing it yourself is an easy way to kill a couple of hours for an entire system like that unless you have to start building boxes, cutting holes in parcel shelves, or making something to mount a speaker in. One piece of advice though.. Do it right, Do it once. Leaaving that audio cable sticking out from under the seat is just begging someone to pull on it. :/ |

I installed all of my stuff on my own, then only help I had was a wiring diagram of the net for the head unit. It really isnt that hard. You can do a good job, just like the stores if you want to.

parcelshelf? it will probably need risers. i just built a new parcel shellf from MDF cause mine was flimsy as. also shouldnt need any dash work unless you got some messed up proprietry inbuilt headunit, i've put HU's in 80' hilux surufs, 82 subarus right thru to 99 121's without needing any modification to the dash?
