new breed of nerd - not only does he stay in doors all day, but also all night
shooting stars are so boring ... unless they crash through your roof and cause a lot of damage, then they're annoying but kind of cool as well |

Me neither! Wow that would be cool, I've only ever seen debris burning up in the atmosphere.
If you want to see more, GO WEST to the open space GO WEST away from the city lights See Pet Shop Boys where into amateur astronomy... |

I've been seeing a lot of falling stars lately now that you mention it, at least 2 in the past 3 months, which is pretty good considering I'm hardly ever outside.

If you have never seen one you have never slept under the stars out in the scrub.
Which is just completely Un-Australian |

you are probably seeing satellitesWhy would you say that? 'Shooting stars' are just as common if not more so than satellites. last edited by fpot at 16:56:41 29/Jun/04 |

Also, if a satellite is moving accross the sky that fast, then something is very wrong.

you are probably seeing satellites Cause if people say they have been seeing a lot lately in civilization its most prolly a sat, they are easier to see and id say more common. Im not saying shooting stars don't exist, I have seen a few in my time, but not buttloads at a time unless its some magical meteor shower, ive seen far more sats floating around up there tho. |

maybe it came from uranuss***, we've run out of laugh cue cards. And yeh, you'd have to blind or retarded (severely) to mistake a satellite for a shooting star. |

sattelites don't shoot accross the sky, they slowly orbit the earth.

I saw that Leonid meteor shower a couple of years ago. Was good but the arseclowns who live around me believe they're part of some giant landing strip so as a result they have almost every light in the entire house switched on at all hours.

I remember driving to Darwin in the 80's and we where in the middle of nowhere between 3 Ways and Katherine when we saw a metorite shower, probably 10-20 "shooting stars" a minute for about 10-15 minutes. Was way cool.
