does anyone play games for too long and then start feeling like the game or should i be in a mental hospital.. for example i've been playing gta3 on ps2 a fair bit recently just getting back into it.. and when me and my dad drive somewhere and someone runs across the road or something i feel like telling dad to speed up.. but not being fully sincere about the proposal, but more that i've played the game so much that that's my first reaction.. has anyone else ever had this.. and if so with what game.. i used to do it with carmageddon as well hahahah

Sounds like you play games too much. When I play a game it finishes the moment I hit exit. Don't be the next Martin Bryant or I'll be pissed.

dude, check yourself into the nearest mental home! If you do ever join the army, just don't try to rocket jump ok? :)

When me and my friend's are out and we see people running across the road we'll say stuff like hey, 10 points if you hit the person and leave their dog standing, but I don't think that's really related to games, and neither of us have ever actually tried to hit someone, and to my knowledge never have actually hit anyone (anyone human wise, other cars, poles, trees, I'm not so sure about)

I once played red alert for way too long and when I closed my eyes I could still see the little guys running around & stuff. Also when someone says something I don't agree with my first reaction without thinking is to yell out bee ess (bs).....damn CS

I used to get that when i was younger and played games a lot, and didn't get enough sleep.

Like they're not serious thoughts that you'd go through with, they're just random gaming-related things.

Stands to reason if u spend days at a time running people over in a car game, you're gonna link it to when you're actually in a car.

Isn't that a brainwashing technique? To continually flood someone with certain images?

Once when I was really young and was playing some acient sierra "quest" game I had something like that.

I woke up one morning but was still half asleep, then decided to just rest a little longer, then I realised how f***ed I was because I had stayed in bed so long, so I thought its cool, ill just keep loading the game back up until I get it right. I did this about 5 times, then when I got enough sleep to be semi conscious, I realised that you cant save/load real life, and I am one late motherf***er :)

When I was addicted to Tony Hawk 2 for 3 days during a holiday, I can remember walking down to Toowong Village & thinking 'man, this would be a cool THPS2 level'. Rather sad yes I know, & I now will forever look at a handrail in a different way

ha, well if you want to talk about stuff in life/tv's that reminds you of games, well I was asleep on the living room floor one night (fell asleep watching TV) and was kinda half asleep, half awake. You know the part where you can hear stuff, but you can't actually say anything or move. Well my parents were watching something with SWAT teams in it, and there was shooting and people yelling lay down your guns and all kinds of stuff. While I was there sleeping I was dreaming I was a CT in CS hehehe

So lucky i still have a NA car... and not a turbo'd one.

That will change over the year tho :)

i remember back when i was playing gta3 heaps and i got into my car after not sleeping that night i started to drive on the right hand side of the road for a few meters before i realised what i was doing.
If i watch, play or listen to anything repedativly for long periods it will begin to effect me, feels like i'm being reprogrammed...i doubt this is the cause for schoolyard shootings etc though

EDIT: same kinda thing when i used to f*** around with mapping and radient, i would allways look at houses and other buildings, lay outs of streets and streetlights lighting the trees etc

Isn't that a brainwashing technique? To continually flood someone with certain images?

Ever watched the Magical Mystery Tour by the Beatles? The whole thing was made to be watched in conjunction with LSD to open up peoples minds to the world around them

i remember when battlefield first came out i played it almost constantly, one day i was sitting in the lounge room and i heard a light plane buzzing overhead, i immediatly stood up and began to walk somewhere, i quickly stopped myself and began to wonder what the hell i was doing, i figured i was looking for the closest AA gun to shoot the bastard down... :/

i still remember games i played 9 years ago...

and i dont mean the game (warcraft 2, total annihialation) i mean the individual games i played./. especially the really intense ones... i can still remember the individual moves i made... its a headf***

games can leave a really big imprint in your head...
