Ok I can't decide which of the following 2 design ideas I want to use for the Investment Club website that I'm making. Anybody feel like giving some pros/cons for the designs plz? :)

The only thing I think is wrong with the first one is the link buttons.

First one only thing I'm really not liking is those link buttons. If it were up to me I would use that sidebar with blue table cells as buttons much like the QGL menu on the main page, except bigger buttons in this case. Or use rollovers with the background and have it in a shade of red or something on rollover.
Other thing in the banner, fade the blend on the pic on right more, at the moment it fades to solid blue too quickly and seems to stop abruptly. The second one I just don't like the colours much it looks too dark and gloomy for a business, maybe try some different colour layouts. The layout itself is neat and clean and would be easier to set up as a webpage. |

Cool thanks guys, some good points on both of them. I'll do some work on each of them tomorrow and see what I can do :)

Second one is nice except the navigation is at the bottom, on a big page you will have to scroll down to navigate the site, very bad, unless you use a frame or a layer in the middle which I personally hate even more then bad navigation.
First one, buttons to stark for the design. |
