dunno if anyone else has noticed but my SPAM levels seem to have dropped to almost zero... in 3 days i've only had three messages in my hotmail account, and none between last night and this morning. Has all this new legislation in the states actually done something even though it hasn't come into effect yet or what???

I never had a spam problem.... ahhh bad luck capto -- do a complete filter but where the sender is in the recipents address book. and everything else dirverted to another mail folder, i know it has its flaws like new business custermers not being able to send emails, but it can be solved. but it will removoe spam

Capt0 : I've had considerable success with anti-spam tools / techniques (server side). gimme your email address or ICQ/MSN handles if you want somebody to bounce ideas off.

Look at the news on slashdot from a few days ago. Apparently one of the biggest spammers is getting the s*** sued out of them by the us govt and microsoft

I still get a few spam mails but then again, I never did get that much anyway. Except for the one time where I got like 10000000000 emails in one day, that was whack.

I don't give out my emails very often, so my spam is 0 (maybe 3 or 4 a week for hotmail).

Only real spam i get is from some asshat with Bugbear on their PC with me in their address book.

opensource...

SpamPal

www.spampal.com i think

or, google it

you need to run it locally on the machines that recieve the e-mails though, which could be a problem, but its basically just an inline program with outlook express, or whatever mail prog you use, it marks your e-mails and then you set a filter to delete/remove the marked e-mails
