Unfortunately BSS's assault on the Folding @ Home stats is over and Overlocker's Australia is neck a neck with us again. OCAU have double the number of folders as we do, and a much larger portion of them are active.

They will pass us in a couple of days. Please help out by joining up with AusGamers so we can delay that folding travesty for as long as possible.

And remember, while Folding @ Home is a great cause, staying a head of OC AU is an even better one!

bugger...

I've got all of my game server boxen on it, but some ghey thing is happening with my stats... :/

Anyway, the machines that are currently on task now that I'm done looking for aliens are...

1. Gamers box - lowly P3 733 256MB ram
2. Lan www/ftp - Celery 450 128MB ram
3. Lan Games1 - dual Celery 450 256MB ram
4. Lan Games2 - dual Celery 450 256MB ram
5. Lan Games3 - dual P3 933 512MB ram

All of these boxen are owned by me and have been built over the last 3 years. Most don't even have cd or floppy drives to cut costs.

Unfortunatly, being a dial-up peon means that uploading/getting blocks only when I'm connected cuts back the ammount of folding that can be done over the week.

Get in there... Ausgamers needs your support to stop the OCAU heathens in there tracks...

Cheers

You just need to make sure you put in your name as kusai (AusGamers) and that should be it.

Yes, when are in the setup phase that means pretty much s***. What matters is that you entered you name with the ausgamers part when you launched console for the first time.

well thats f***ed, cus they also said u could put e mail, so i didnt think it mattered there.
anyway, ill fix it.
also, to close the console, just click the close button is ok?

Yea I assume so... It should just take off from where it left off. There is no real need to close it though as it takes no CPU time away from other applications.

ok, its fixed.
this should be mad clear in the link about joining AU and f@h, otherwise some of us may think we are helping AU but are actually doing f*** all.

Shot_guN,

Are you still having problems?

Have you tried deleting the dir and reinstalling?

I just checked the stats and there doesn't seem to be a problem with the servers at the moment, but i'm not going to upload a packet for another 3 hours so can't be sure.

I am doing well now.
I have 2 P3 933, a P3 850 and an Athlon 1000 going strong all day.

We are considering setting up about 50 of the machines we had before to fold *every* weekend. Might hold em off for a bit longer. I read somewhere that work units expire pretty quickly though I dont remember the exact time. If its less than a week then it will slow that up a bit...anyway...

"also, to close the console, just click the close button is ok? "
If you do that you lose the frame you were working on. Not too much depending on the machine, but ctrl-c is preffered.

Yes. Right now, after 2 days, unfinished work units "expire" and
are reassigned to new machines. Since new WUs are
generated by finishing old ones, we must keep things moving
along by expiring units. As we move to longer WUs we will likely

Anyone that quote that will be shot :Þ

It's from the FAQ, which in itself is out of date. It is in fact 4days (96Hours)

In case anyone is still having trouble with their username, or are just not sure if they have the right username: Open your folding directory, open the 'client.cfg' file. It will have a bit that says email, put your username in there.

I have a question though. When you install on more than one machine with the same username, how do you get it to add the stats to the original ID. I have it on two machines and they are coming up with seperate stats even though the usernames are identical. I was going to try editing the second client.cfg so it had the same ID, but I'm told the folding servers don't like that and get confused. Any ideas?

This is whats in my .cfg file
[settings]
email=AusGamers
server=folding.stanford.edu
port=10101
ask=y
userid=7F8D428B27032F6E

Does this mean my stats will go onto the ausgamers team stats?

nah, it should read:

email=SquatinDog (AusGamers)

you can close it down, edit it, and restart it though

I have 4 machines all with identical usernames and they aren't getting confused.
You should check to see they are exactly the same.

Username should be identical but i believe userid should be different. The userid is unique for each install so the server can monitor the packets it has give to that install. So don't copy the userid across.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Username the same, ID different. The problems is, that when I look at the stats page, it has two entries for me, as if it doesn't realise I'm the same person. See look...
