Does qgl/ausgamers still do web hosting, i cant remember if they stopped doing it or not, for like clan pages etc

I did up a quick site for an interest of mine and am wondering if it can be hosted or if i need to go find somewhere else

ausDirt: in the odd chance theres some other riders specifically DJ'ers out there go have a look :)

also feel free to critique the site if you want, it doesnt really bother me.
still looks a bit bland considering a few changes, also i havent tested it in anything else than IE so it could be bad in others :)

hehe, the first think I thought of when i saw that page was ausanime.

I dont think the colours in the text box work very well, bit to heavy, bit bad on the eyes with the fonts there. maybe go for a dark background with lighter text boxes? I can however see what you are trying to achive with the dirt and all, but on the edge of viewer friendlyness, try something different? its almost hard to focus your eyes on the text.

k when i could be bothered i might try lighter textboxes and a darker background

damn i deleted the psd file for the design, this was some old unfinished project, that makes changing images a royal bitch :(

the last one (index2.htm) is easiest on the eyes. its much more defined than the others.

yeah rubba, definitely the second one (can't you have 1 other colour in there though. A dark green would look good IMO). I understand the whole brown thing, but it's a bit of an overkill.

The website needs a lot more colour. After playing Quake, brown never seemed exciting again.

heh okay ill give dark green a shot, i can see that working

also, you using photoshop rite? what did you use for the slope at the top of the page? hope it was Pen Tool

what do you mean by that? the 2nd page looks more jagged cause i lost the PSD for the initial design as i never thought id finish the page off, so the only way i could recolour it was to use the ghey magic select tool

now that i look at it againg it DID have a kind of bevel bit on the edge thats half disintergrated with the colour change, ill have to redo the image later :(

I actually used a different method to make a smooth slope. Draw whatever you want with straight edges (background black, shape white), then gaussian blur it to however much you want the edges rounded, then adjust the levels and bring the sliders in real close. That makes whatever shape you had before into a nice curved shape.

But tell me anyway scuzzy what is the "pen tool" i got the pencil and the paintbrush, but i see no pen?
I am only using PS 6, does 7 have some rad new tools? Must get a hold of 7 sometime.

edit: /me looks again... HELLO! :p
wow that is cool, i wish i had've known what that tool did earlier!
