Nah its not..
Prolly knock off bout $100 on the video card, normal Ti4200 does exactly the same trick, just without the rice name and box..

Hes doing art .. he wants a good monitor
You could easily spend $800 alone on that...

Doesnt leave much else

Yes, but an $800 monitor isn't much good if your running a 486 off it hey...

Thanks man, we are not all supported by our parents hey, but this isn't about that. I dunno why you find it hard to understand.

HE HAS GOT A BUDGET

Ask your mum and dad, they might be able to explain it to you a bit more..

Nice assumption, your wrong.

Is he impartial to intel or amd?

If he isnt, ill spec an AMD

One of the biggest things ppl skimp on is monitors ... and theyre f***ing idiots to do so
Its IMPORTANT

Without it you got nothing..
with a s*** one, your not seeing what your meant to

VERY important for colour representation... HES IN ART

Whateva dude..

I understand where you are coming from dude, I am doing similar s***, but because I have hecs, and don't have to pay upfront, I can spend more on my pc, hence, I have a 19" Sony...

Howeverhe's paying upfront tafe, so theres not much extra cash lying around, studying full time, not leeching off parents, paying for transport, etc. There are reasons for people skimping on things, its not f***ing voluntary or stupid. What else can you skimp on without losing performance ?

You eyes bleed because of the copious amounts of hentai that the monitor displays.. that and tentacles... Lots of tentacles... DON'T LIE SCUZZY.. ITS NOT NICE!

if youre on a budget then I would say AMD is the go since its as cheap as a barrel of s***

Yeah spose AMD is ok, however noise is a priority, it needs to be quiet...

yeah its annoying when you are dealing with n00bs ...

eg. HEY MAN I GOT $5 CAN I BUY A PORSCHE 911??? etc
sphox

Noise and temps arent an issue with amd...

Next thing ... is he willing to overclock?
(and does he, or you know how to .. SAFELY)

Its a pice of piss :P

I am not very good with my memory but I think the stock AMD coolers werent too bad, but not as quiet as the intel ones

so yeah this is around what he should get:

any Nforce 2 motherboard with onboard sound, lan (if he needs it) and onboard video if he needs that as well

pick any AMD chip you wont tell much of a diference but to stay safe pick the 2500+ ~$150

seagate hard drives becuase other brands are no good :) ~$120

any ram will do if hes on a budget again, pick 2 of the same sticks so he can run dual channel on that nforce ~$150

any case, ~$100

etc, not hard to put a decent system under that price

What the f*** ? I aint no noob, Ive been overclocking for prolly 5 years, I know its possible, I just want some assistance. To be truthful, the only persons opinion I respect on here is orbitor so far, and I am not likening this system to a 911...

If you cant meet the challenge, f*** off.

i would go the
P4 2.4/800
asus p4p800

but it means more $$$

instead of the LG 17" flat, go the LG 19" close-to-flat 900B around $315 bucks
