in the news yesterday, i seen this.

LAWS AIM FOR CHEAP IMPORTS.
books, sheet music and computor software would be cheaper under laws changing import rules, the Federal Government said yesterday.
The government is pushing for changes to allow parallel imports, which are legitimate copies of material imported without the permission of the copyright owner or licensee.
"the proposed change is good for consumers, but not only for consumers" Attorney-general daryl williams told parliament.
"Consumers will benefit from a more competitive enviroment that will ensure world-competitive prices, more choice of products and supplies and increased access to materials such as computor games, business software and personal finance software."
the change would also benefit small business, he said.

i have been fighting for this for close to 18 months and probably close to 1000 e-mails sent to ministers and some help from the gaming public and some aus gaming internet sites, well, the balls rolling and im pretty happy about that, i can tell you it feels good to see so much hard work come to somthing.

btw, thanks for the help PCPP you bunch of self centered a******s.

because when they write the reviews that are two months old, its because when they got it, they missed deadline for printing, so it couldnt be done.

same with previews, they write a preview a month before the game comes out, but it only comes out in the same month due to the same reasons with printing.

pcpp is a good read, but its now superceded with websites like ausgamers etc that deliver the news within the second, rather then 2 months old news. more and more ppl have internet access now that magazines like that are getting obselete.

but, its still a good read. i prefer Atomic now tho...

Yeah but it's cheaper for me to buy a copy of PCPP than it is to pay Tel$tra for the extra mb required to read the internet based reviews.

Besides I can't read Ausgamers on the train.

Magazines are always going to be behind or outdated. Fact is, online can be updated at any time, magazines are print and come out at certain intervals. That would be pretty obvious by now wouldn't it?

Great, so now all you need is a US copy of Windows so you can play your US copy of Tribes 2, and run your US copy of your firewall...

Not gonna work.

well duh frag terminator, as a website can update to the second without having to reprint everything, its the main reason why websites are ahead of magazines.
