Strangely - the gaming servers are pinging @20 as per usual

Cant get on ICQ, browse web or even use mIRC.

Hate to dampen your little bitch session ladies, but telstra's 'uber' backbone is dying in the ass in all sorts of places, ergo the international link dies from time to time.

Those of you bitching about poor performance will ALSO notice that all australian traffic is sweet.

Thanks to c***ing telstra, all internet users will suffer all sorts of connection difficulties as we rely on our lifeline to the states for so many reasons.

Myself: ICQ Server connection(US), Everquest(US), Meridian59(Germany), Halflife WON Auth(US)

This basically leaves me with f*** all to do, absolutely nothing

I'm sure the rest of you are mourning the loss of your favourite kiddie porn sites or whatever.

To cut it all down in a few short lines, don't blame the ISPs, blame telstra for their dodgy routers which they've been trying to fix for the past week.

Patience is a virtue, and i'm sadly lacking at the moment =(

i am getting dropouts to icq and irc, fortunately i am not a chatty bitch so am ever soo happy with my 20 ping to q3, and downloads are still around the 500-600 k/sec for me, a slight degregration in the service but it doesnt bother me one bit and imho it still kicks ass

oh and i think the reason for it is all the warez monkeys moving from telstra to optus with their grace periods, i reckon this will be over in a month or 2 so just deal with it • º

Yeah, I have noticed a few things. I can play online for hours with low ping, but if I'm just online using ICQ and IRC, then ICQ and (mainly) IRC drops out. But the thing is, it still has the Link light on the modem. So, it's not like the connection is dying completely. And when IRC disconnects, sometimes I can still browse websites, and other times, they die too.

Yeah it sucks, im on BPA and just got in major s*** cause i didnt reply to my g/f's messages.

Since they announced this cap, ive left audiogalaxy satellite on 24hrs a day. i end up u/l about 350meg a day, only s*** thing about that is you cant abort certain transfers so it takes up the full 16k/sec uploading so it seems to make my downloads go slower, am i imagining it or would that cause the d/l's to go slower?

surfing mainly, but also icq n irc have been really s*** for the past 3 days... but gaming has been sweet as per usual.

I dont think warez monkeys could chug the network with 64k/sec.

its been happening to me for about 5 - 6 days (optus) so dont say we have no reason to whine!

o@h doesnt d/l at 64k/sec, its more like 300-500k/sec
