Synptoms:

Computers Kb ps2 port died 3 months ago, since then, random lockups have occoured. I got the system and tried to boot using USB kb. It now seeems that the usb ports have gone too, The kbs lights light up, but it doesn't respond to the delete on bios. the OS was f***ed up by the owner so basicly im working in dos to try and troubleshoot cus you cant do much in wondows without a kb.

What im thinking is that the southbridge has died, which is concourent with the ps2 dieing, then the usb;s dieing. There is power to the usb ports, it just doesn't seem that the datd is getting thru. Anyone got any ideas?

dude you do know that board has a 3 year manufacturers warranty don't you?

are you going to chase up with the origional place of purchase, or at least take it to a Asus wholesaler/reseller to have them RA it for you?

or are the clients in so much or a rush that they'd prefer to spent money unneccesarily? it only costs 50-odd bucks to get it RA'd thru a 3rd party.
