Im trying to work out what the difference is between the woolworths petrol, and say BP petrol or any of the others. I've heard a lot of bad things about the woolies petrol(its bad for your engine, etc.), and i wanted to know exactly what the differences were..

They put more ethanol into their petrol which damages your engine and makes it cheaper to produce.

ethanol burns cleaner and has a higher octane level. cars just need to be tuned to use it properly

It is 30% ethanol, 50% heating oil and 20% normal fuel :p

Seriously I doubt there is anything wrong with it, they would just buy it wholesale like all other servo's do - same s*** different barrel.. All fuel has ethanol in it I think (BP, Shell, whatever), perhaps the premium fuels don't though. It doesn't cause too much harm except that it makes the inside of your engine corode faster thatn it normally would...

Some cars don't seem to like it, I'd say give it a run if you notice degredation in performance or mileage, or the engine is pinging switch back to what ever you usually use.

I know you said no rumours... but eh, I heard that when it rains they end up with a lot of water in their fuel :p but anyways, Ive filled up my car there for like ages, never had any problems, tho im not entirely sure, my cars is falling apart anyway :) but nah... ive never had a problem with them.

There are 2 major suppliers of petrol in Brisbane, they are BP and Caltex, my guess is they would buy it direct from the storage facilities at one of these places, send there trucks out there to pick it up and take it straight back to the servos
