Well NudgeeLAN was one of those friendly local events that wasn't bad at all. As per normal, BF 1942, Counter Strike and WarCraft III owned the day. The hall was pretty much a full house for most of the day and the numbers started to peter off after 7pm.

Warm Welcome, Good crowd, great admins and the hot dogs were a nice treat too. Congrats guys on an exellent event.

Now if those two d|cks who obviously can't afford headphones had left thier ^%&$#!! speakers at home!, it would have been perfect..

:D

Stupid work, saturday night and sunday morning are possibly the most annoying combination of shifts ever.

I had spoken to that guy with the speakers once already, i guess he turned them up after i left, and who was using a basketball IN the hall? thats just not on.

But yes, the lan was quite good and we were surprised how many ppl did actually attend this lan, was fantastic to see the community enjoying it so much. I left at about 6:30, i had stuff i had to do, but the bbq snags went extrmely fast, as did the meat patties so i think next lan we will be doing that again. :)

Thank you to all that attended as well :)

Yes twas a great event, except fort he fact that somebody thought that they needsed 128meg of SDRAM more than the school. Ther person that took that return it to the school imediately or else there will be NO hire computers in the future. If you know of it where abouts also please email me capt0@nudgeelan.ausgamers.com.

Other than that was a great event after we had the netowrk sorted out and some slight netowrk issues with some cards/cable/switch combo's was awesome. The warcraft 3 comp was small but ended up coming down to Slaw vs Kungfu. n the end KungFu defeated Slaw in a quick 20 minute game.

Battle Field went off with many people playing it through out the day. Although the jeep/det pack trick was not performed :(. But we did do lots of base jumping.

There was some RedAlert 2 being played much to my amasment and also lots of Counter-Strike happening.

Lunch and dinner were awesome with a BBQ.

The door prize which was a copy of Battle Field 1942 was drawn at about 6pm thanx to Rampage.com.au, local net cafe at Nudgee (all P4's 1.8 with GF4 4200's) and was won my #4. We never got #4's name becuase he left soon after the draw.

Thanx to all the came Friday night and helped setp and all that helped during the day and also helped pack up last night.

Finally I ended up getting home at 5am after going to Rampage's lock in last night.

Someone sitting 2 spots down and needed some files from the person next to me, lent his hard drive to the person 2 seats down, he went to the shop and when he came back the guy pissed off,

so a 80gb hdd was also stolen :(

I think rego should be mandatory with contact details

lol Parag0n, KungFu.Kat = CaPt0, KungFu.Donkey = Knitefire :P

As for the hard drive, that is unfortunate but i agree people should look after their own stuff and the network is there to transfer files that are needed .. ie drivers not pulling somebody's drive out and giving it to somebody they don't know.

With these horror stories going around, I wonder if the admins would be upset if I chained a large dog to my PC at the next LAN?

hmmm, I can just imagine the 6 oclock news.

"14 nerds were eaten by a vicous alsation at a gathering today....."

as long as it don't s*** anywhere.

as for the basket ball, i know who it was i'll beat down on him next time.

Personally i didn't find that very anoying, but if there's something u don't like and there's a reason to stop it tell us.

All in all it was still a great day and definatly the biggest yet >70 ppl at about 3pm. Pitty about the network problems and the power outage but we'll recheck all the equiptment and and prepare a trouble free lan next time.

Also i rekon the bbq was great and we should do it again.
