Herro sexy people, im have a big of a problem with half life, it seams that when i play, my moniter is only showing 60hz, and with than half life's fps never goes above 60, would anyone know how to bump up the refresh rate? its starting to s*** me, an athlong 1gz doing a max of 60fps :)

caus i remember when i played i couldnt notice the difference between 120hz in 640x480 and 85hz in 1024x758

i couldnt work out what you mean, are you wanting to change the refresh rate or the frame rate ?

^ that's frame rate.

60-120hz is the refresh rate at which your video card displays the crap on your screen.

i have mine at 85hz for EVERYTHING. I have 2x 12mb monster3d II's, and a 4mb trident(I'll get a gf2 4600, when they are out).

anyway hl has nothing to do with refresh rate, its your video card settings.

ok, i hope some people understand what they are talking about. And I'm a newbie too :D(as helrasier in #radioactive said).

If you set the above settings in the Half life console then go to your video card properties and disable the v-sync setting then you should get 99fps. If you leave v-sync enabled then you will only get fps rates on par with your refresh rate regardless of what your fps_max setting is.

but why is the highest 99fps?
