Hiya, ive got a p3 500 slot 1 in an Asus p3v4x. Ive only ever got the FSB up to 112. Im usre it could go further with a bit of voltage uping but its alreaddy quite hot on the boddgy OEM Fan/Heat sink that comes with it.

Ive been around looking and all i can find is Slot A and Socket cooling.. Is there any place i can get one and does any one know how far i could push the core?

any help would be appreciated.

meta it all depends what p3 500 it is, if it is the socket 370 on a duaghter board then u can go to 75 easily which i think is about 150 bus? yes it is, but if it is a secc case , ie the big black thing then u can't go above about 112. dirrerent quality chips, mirage had one of the secc chips and we could only get 112 out of his but feyd has a socket 730 on daughter board in an asus p3v4x and he can get 750 out of it, with standard fan

yer kaygen, all of us can\'t simply ask our mothers to buy us a bar fridge... we hafta do this thing called \"saving\"

it may sound weird at first but it actually works better than \"muuuum, can i have a bar fridge?\"

if its a coppermine p3 then 733 should not be a prob

tho seing as coppermines dont come in slot 1 (u need converter) and i dont think coppermines even come in speeds slower than 550. So if u have a katami (Prob got name wrong) then unless u use insane amounts of cooling u aint gonna get much from it.

KaKaroT : the 800eb is a 133mhz bus chip, but if you're running a slot one board, its probably a bx chipset, not designed to go 133mhz on the bus.
Bx will do that bus, but that chipset was designed as a 100mhz front side bus, and running it at 133 overclocks the pci bus and agp slot for the video.
Pci runs at 33mhz, agp 1 is 66mhz, agp 2 is 83mhz, and is set in the bios as a fraction of the fsbus (1/3 for pci,and 2/3 for agp 1) @ 100mhz.
If u dont want problems with overclocking the agp slot, get a 815e chipset motherboard, or turn your fraction multiplier for the agp slot down in the bios (there aren't a lot of choices).
Or try a good quality video card, i know someone that did well with an asus 6800 (ddr mem').

some cpus justy dont overclock mcuh, you learn to deal with it. generally the higher the mhz rating the less chance of a decent overlock. at 800 u dont really need to anyway witha gf sdr.

well obviously if you're increasing the bus past 133mhz, u need some Pc150 ram.

f***ing pharcyde? wtf. you shouldn't really try and insult ppl when you do not have the facts straight. For starters i have a job seconldy i live out of home. Third i do not ask my mother to buy me things. I buy everything myself. So before you start acting cool and everything, kinda get your facts right and stop wanking your little pin dick all over the place. ooher
