I buy things when I have need to possess them. I am not motivated to buy something just because I have money.

holy s*** $300 on brake pads. are they made of gold?
$300 definate night out on the piss, take ur mates, shout them a few drinks. Then go to the casino and have some fun. Never know ur luck, plus you'll have those memories for ever. Unlike his mum, whos wrinkly old ass will die sooner than the memory, plus your less likely to catch anything from a night on the town. If you want a woman, you could always get one drunk enough so Other wise wait till you find something you need/want. |

and then they take maybe 20 mins to put each one on... Drum brakes not even 20 minutes, more like 5-10... Discs, I dunno... but $300 sounds like you got ripped trog =) The pads themselves aren't worth much at all [edit]--moving two posts into one-- Oh, next time you want your brake pads changed, I'll do it for $300 trog! =P |

He would have machined your discs.
They are the same style on almost every car. DONT GO BACK THERE, trust me, too much $$. Do it yourself and save $400, get them machined if you have to , but way cheaper elsewhere. |

well I remember doing brakes on a 4WD once.
we got rid of all the fluid and put new one it. something about not having any air in the system or funny things happen. well it took awhile to get all the air out. cars don't like me cuz I don't treat them well. |

$550 for a honda ? What the hell is up with that !? I drive a honda integra and get my brakes done at brakes plus underwood. I've got a lifetime warranty on my break pads which means when they wear out they replace them for free. Standard pads are $149 and that includes disk machining, new brake fluid and new pads with life time warranty. You'd expect it to cost you $500 + if you had to get some master cylinder work done but for a standard pad replacement. They saw you guys coming.

Why not just lock drug addicts in a room for a few days (with supervision and regular food/water). You can't die from withdrawal symptoms.

Because its inhumane hunter, there are other methods used to rid people from physical addiction such as ibogine which is a recently banned plant which has been proven to rid people of addiction for life...after having an experience with this plant the user will no longer feel the urge to gain happyness from synthetic physicaly addicting chemicals...the will feel "enlightened"..but as usual our governments banned this substance because it is know to cause halucinations....

It might be inhumane but so is letting them continue to use drugs and end up killing themselves and/or others in the process. How long does it take for someone to come off (cold turkey) a hard drug such as heroin? A couple of days?

Its more complex than getting the drugs out of their systems man, its the mental addicion too...bordom ect mental addiction can run in the family...
To rid the person of pysical addiction it would take around a week at most, the mental effects may be with them for the rest of their lives...heroin is evil. ibogine works by sending the person into a coma like trance for a week striaght, thus giveing them a week to get over physical withdrawl caused by opiates such as heroin without even being aware they are having withdrawl, ibogine also works by giveing the person visions, enlighting them...when they come out of the trance they often dont feel the need to use chemicals for a long time but it is important to keep using the ibogine treatment at least once a year just in case they want to try drugs again. Its a very touchy subject and everyone has their views.. The drug is evil, not the person. |

Heroin is addicting and will effect you life..most probably negativly, ibogine is a natural plant with no addictive chemicals that will change your life for the better.
The UN labled ibogine as a banned substabce without any research (as with most drugs) and not realising that it has helping potential... Its really hard to answer questions like these because it will most probably spawn another debate. You combat your headaches by taking paracetamol or codine (which is an opiate) <--- one example of a very debatable subject. If you saw first hand the results of this new herb you would realise its potential. It all really depends on the substance you plan to combat the other substabce with.. The sad thing is that most of todays modern relief medicines are highly addictive and dangerous drugs mostly created by goverment funded labratories many years ago, many of todays banned substances are safer than drinking...it all comes down to personal opinion and forced goverment opinion... People need to start thinking for themselves and questioning authority.... Go here are learn the truth about drugs http://www.erowid.org |

Most drugs originate from natural plants. The UN labled ibogine as a banned substabce without any research (as with most drugs) and not realising that it has helping potential Which, imo, is fair enough. Drugs shouldn't be allowed untill they have been throughly researched, and every effect and side-effect has been discovered. You combat your headaches by taking paracetamol or codine (which is an opiate) Both of those drugs would have undergone that research. People know what is a safe dose of them and what isn't as a result of that. |

I'm a little skeptical about the information you know cobz, you cheated on your girlfriend and slept with her friend, why didn't you just dump her then ask out her friend?

hey, most banned substances are created syntheticly from scratch...besides opiates and weed..
Some originate from natural sources but in minute ammounts, DMT which is the most powerfull substance known to man besides LSD is found in the Acacia species which is found everywhere in australa..after discovering this people will find a synthetic route to making these chemicals. I work inside a computer store fixing stuff..im only 18. fpot man, i didnt ask to be anayalised for the questions i answered...that is the f***ing truth and you can read all about it at erowid, if you want to spark a drug debate start a thread and i'll contribute some knowledge i know about drugs and we could properly debate it there. As i clearly stated in that comment about codiene to guard my back from comments such as the ones you wrote; it was a very debatable subject... Paracetamol will poisen your liver over the 3000mg mark, codine will send you into a coma in the 500mg mark. What i was pointing out about drug research is that the UN and most governments dont research them after scheduling them because one or two f***heads killed themselfes by doing something stupid. Precription medacine, drinking and smoking kills more people per year than all the banned drugs combined. MDMA is just recently being researched by a privetly funded lab group and it has been actualy proven that it wont cause holes in your brain in moderative doses...this is just propaganda bs spawned by the US government to get people scared of it. and corrupt, i didnt go out with the chick i f***ed because she was also f***ing another dude. I have a nice gf now who i trust and she trusts me. |

Can I ask how you pulled that? And will you be leaving your job soon?
Are you including deaths attributed directly to alcohol (alcohol poisoning) or deaths caused by the effects of alcohol (drink driving etc)? I don't think THAT many people die of alcohol poisoning, but I'd say a fair few die from drink driving and that sorta business. Alcohol is a useful drug provided it's used correctly. I'm quite responsible when drinking, though I did put a hole in the wall when I fell up the stairs Friday before last. I know when I've had enough and I don't drink anymore than I can handle. I've never passed out or chucked up so I'd say I've done pretty good. |

yes hunter, i agree totaly with you...it all comes down to personal taste...those stats did not include any deaths from things like drink driving...just poisoning...
about my job... Ive had alot of experience working inside government and company databases at a young age...i did work at the registry of births deaths and marriges sydney and the commenwelth back mainframe in burwood. I handed in my application to the guy who ran the store and he said i would be perfect for the job, so yer...i fix computers in a small computer store in sydney and quite enjoy it. |

Ahh I see why you have a tech job, you're in Sydney :). Up here in Brisbane it's pretty difficult to get tech work unless you have at least 3 years commercial experience. Well actually that applies to every job up here, you can't even get a friggin job washing dishes because you need "dish washing experience" (ahahahahahaha)

Done work experience. There isn't much more I can do short of grabbing an employer by the scruff of their clothing and scream in their face until they submit to me. Seriously the lack of entry-level jobs up here is frustrating at the very least.

Heroin is made from plants. Poppie seed thingies to be exact, and they still extract it from those seeds.
As my brother fpot said, its fair enough that the drugs got banned before it was tested, cos things have to be tested first to make sure theyre safe. How about actually having fun NATURALLY, not by some drug. I dont smoke, and i drink very little (once every fortnight, maybe less, and even then, its only about 1 glass of rum & cola or something, i hate beer). anyway, i just deleted half the stuff i wrote cos it was starting to turn into a post about 3 pages long or something. |

Also, i doubt the site/source your getting those statistics from are accurate. Provide us with recent evidence to support your claim and ill beleive you, but at the moment im just gonna disregard it as bulls***. |

Tobacco . . . . . . . . . . . . 360,000 [legal] Alcohol . . . . . . . . . . . . 130,000 [legal] Prescribed drugs . . . . . . . 18,675 [legal] Caffeine . . . . . . . . . . . 5,800 [legal] Cocaine . . . . . . . . . . . . 2,390 [illegal] Heroin . . . . . . . . . . . . 2,147 [illegal] Aspirin . . . . . . . . . . . . 986 [legal] Marijuana . . . . . . . . . . . 0 [illegal] Taken from americas national statistics...i dont like posting this stuff because heroin and cocaine is f***ed. Less than 40 people die per year in the world from MDMA, mdma hasnt caused the actual death...dehydration and overhydration (drinking too much water resulting in swelling brain = death) and most pills contain other chemicals such as PMA, DXM, PCP, SPEED and ketamine as well..or without MDMA. If you do take pills...buy a f***ing testing kit..most of the dumbasses i know are eating ketamine pills thinking they are top s***...its quite funny watching them waste their money. |

MDMA = Ecstasy right?
Well you seem to ignore the fact that a recent study PROVED without a doubt that Ecstasy causes long-term brain damage, though you'd have to be brain-dead to some extent to use it in the first place. |

oh that is so bulls***. Provide a link to these statistics, theres something wrong. When it comes to cancer, pot is nearly as bad as tobacco. |

LOL, research before you say comments like this.
Cheesman weed cant kill you...no one has ever died from weed..its a fact..even the worlds governments aknowledge this as a fact. And your right about mdma causing mental effects...what people fail to relise is that the people who got these symptoms were hardcore ravers... The average raver eats around 4-5 pills per rave, doings something this stupid will definently give you brain dammage, its because of these people that drugs are still banned. 1 pills dammage could be compared to drinking a case of beer...5-10 cases of beer a week will most definintly cause you some greif. And weed can cause people to go skitz after long term usage...drugs effect people differently.. MODERATION is the key...anything will kill you in large ammounts, dumbasses fail to aknowledge this and subsaquently keep responsible users from doing something they like in moderation leagily. |

i think you'd have more chance getting the speed limits removed from our roads than you would legalising any illegal substances
sure you can say how harmless drugs are to some of the population, but laws are there to protect people and that includes protecting them from themselves |

yes but isnt it a sad thing that people need to be protected from themselves?
In 3 years weed will most probably be unbanned in the UK, which will set off a chain rection of drug reform in other countires...most probably not america thus most probably not australia becuase we as a country are too weak and scared of what other countries might think to pass our own laws and follow the leads of larger goverments like the sheep we are. |

Wait a moment, you need to differentiate between de-criminalisation and legalisation - they are two COMPLETELY different things. De-criminalisation does not make marijuana use, possession or cultivation legal but it does mean you won't go to jail or have a conviction recorded. Perhaps decriminalisation would solve a lot of problems (I mean people who are put into jail will inevitably learn new criminal skills and probably end up on hard drugs) but it doesn't address the REAL issue behind drug and alcohol abuse.
The real issue is that there is no hope for a lot of people due to the way society is heading. Drug abuse was minimal about 40+ years ago as people HAD hope for the future. Now, everything is related to the mighty dollar and things will only get worse. Money IS the root of all evil. |

I know hunter, weed is being decriminalised most probably this year...in 3 years time i would say it would be legalised in britin...the government couldnt give a rats ass about weed anymore..its costing them too much money trying to stop something they cant.
