hm, what good chipset coolers are around these days? the heatsink on my video card is really small and dinky, and i think it may be the cause of occasional lockups
the heatsink is glued on, but it doesnt look like it would be very difficult to remove it
im thinking of going and buying some artic silver epoxy and a new chipset cooler, and possibly some ram sinks. are ram sinks worth buying? seems like they don't really do anything

ice what kind of card do you have?

usually if its a decent brand there will be holes for the heatsink just to clip on

just buy some regular arctic silver.

but if u got no holes and want to go the epoxy just remember once it goes on it aint comin off, ud prolly rip the GPU off the board before the glue gave way :) its strong s***!

If you plan to overclock the card and its based on a Geforce2 Chip I would recommend ram sinks, far greater gains are achieved from overclocking the ram than the GPU, on those cards. As far as GPU coolers go, if you want somthing pretty much ready to go, get a crystal orb. DO NOT get a blue orb, I have one and compared to newer GPU coolers they are pretty cruddy (small and bumpy base, two piece, noisey and unreliable fan).

ah ok. i was wondering about the crystal orbs. Ive got a 8500le, and theres no holes in the board
i might stick with the chipset thats on their, it seems ok, but ive ordered a pair of ram sinks
so ill probably buy some epoxy for them anyway

blue orbs are pretty good, lap them nice n flat and if u wanna go overboard rip the fan out of a golden orb and screw that straight into the blue orb.

Then u got urself a nice lil ubercooler :)

Plus I'm not sure if you can even buy blue orbs new anymore.
