I installed the service pack 2 and now when I load most web pages heaps of the pictures just have a blank square with an X in them. Is there any way to fix this? I new I shouldn't of done anything to my machine seeing as it was already working fine but I had to take a chance on installing it.

Maybe there's a setting that's been changed that I can switch back? God damn this crap.

assuming your an IE boy

tools>internet options>advanced tab> under multimedia settings>load pictures

see if this is checked

apart from that, id suggest giving a superior browser a try...

Opera isn't free and thus bad :).

Obviously they didn't learn from Netscape's demise... people won't pay for something if they don't have to.

Nope. That box was ticked already. Maybe it's time to go up to IE6. Jesus H Christ I wish I never installed that spastic thing. I'm never ever gonna d/l an upgrade from M$ again.

Where would the uninstall option be? I remember a warning coming up on the install saying cancel now before everything starts getting loaded. Apart from that it didn't have any option to have an uninstall with it. Unless I'm missing the point and it's somewhere on the machine now.

If it is, please tell me where.

It's right there when you get the dialogue box with the agreement that you have to tick the box.

underneath it is a box which relates to uninstalling the service pack

which is ticked by default

should find it in add/remove software.

Ah. I remember that box. That was the one that asked if I wanted to make a back up. Haha. That's hilarious because I unchecked it. Anyway, I'm going to bed now.

Ciao fellas.

Draffa... you're the idiot my friend - even the original developer of Netscape conceded THAT is why they lost the browser war with Microsoft. Netscape ONLY made browsers and that was their ONLY means of income. Microsoft on the other hand had been in business for at least a decaded prior to Netscape and made a whole host of other products.

Microsoft developed IE and then bundled it with Windows 95 - which almost every PC user used. How was Netscape supposed to compete with a huge giant like Microsoft giving their browser away for free? They couldn't! People were NOT going to pay for Netscape when IE, which came with their damned computer was free and did the job! This is the major reason behind the DOJ's Anti-Trust case.

Next time I suggest you get a cluepon before posting any stupid remarks.

why the f*** pay for something when u dont have to. even if its only 1 dollar its much easier to use something which u can download freely.

Well looks like I'm gonna format tonight after work. I can't stand the gheyness that has happened after installing service pack 2. I'm never updating win2k ever again. And IE6 is just as ghey too. Gonna stick with EI5 and live happily ever after.

apparently having a banner in a free program doesn't make it free.

Don't know how that works though.

Last time I used Opera it told me I could only use it for 30 days and after that it would not work until I registered it...

it lied, since at least version 5.X the free version is unlimited use but there's a relatively unobtrusive add banner
